Big rock show at the White Water this Friday night! Lee Bains & the Glory Fires (Birmingham, AL) * Adam Faucett * Bohannans (Chattanooga, TN) * 9pm . . Lee Bains III & the Glory Fires are an Alabama-based rock band whose music is informed by the swagger of classic Southern rock, the energy and attitude of punk, the intelligence and personal lyrical stance of indie rock, and the deep grooves of R&B. The group was formed in 2010 by guitarist, lead vocalist, and principal songwriter Lee Bains III. . . Hailing from Little Rock, Arkansas, and possessing a voice the Onion A.V. Club warns “knocks your brain into the back of your skull,” Adam Faucett has drawn comparisons from Tim Buckley to Cat Power to Otis Redding. . . Called “one of the greatest, most thoughtful lyricists the state has to offer,” (Arkansas Times) Faucett has again pushed the borders of his “part folk, part blues, part elemental rock stomp, part unidentifiable cosmic holler” (Arkansas Democrat-Gazette) with the release of It Took the Shape of a Bird, a record of his most personal, unbodied, and darkly beautiful songs to date. . . The Bohannons are a bit of a Tennessee institution, but the central tenant of their music is their unwavering commitment to making challenging records. Marty and Matt Bohannon have been at it for a while, but have experienced a bit of a renaissance as of late. Known locally for hosting national and international artists in their hometown of Chattanooga, a mid-size post-industrial southern city with a burgeoning arts scene. The land and the population are indicative of the material generated by the band. They play regularly with regional bands Lucero, The Alabama Shakes, Lee Bains III & The Glory Fires, Patterson Hood, The Dexateens, J. Roddy Walston & The Business, the Features, The Water Liars and Jason Isbell. The Bohannons have been creating musical narratives informed by personal experience, blending classic and modern influences, since the early 90s when brothers Matt and Marty Bohannon made their first recording onto a four-track cassette tape in a duplex garage at their parents’ home. . .

Samantha Crain was among the first out-of-state acts we worked with when we started filling our calendar in 2006. She was an extraordinary talent then and has only continued to grow. Samantha kicks off at with John Calvin Abney at 8:30 this evening.

Patrick Sweany and Greyhounds are heading to the White Water this coming Saturday, January 19th! This will be an amazing night of music from world class rock n rollers. Advance tickets available at the link in our bio! . . Patrick Sweany & Greyhounds are heading to the White Water Tavern on Saturday, January 19th for what is guaranteed to be an outstanding night of blues, soul, and rock n roll. Advance tickets are recommended & available at the link below! . . On a given night Patrick Sweany willl swing through blues, folk, soul, bluegrass, or maybe some classic 50s rock. He’s a musical omnivore, devouring every popular music sound of the last 70 years, and mixing ’em all together seamlessly into his own stew. Yet, the one thing that most people notice about Patrick isn’t his ability to copy – it’s his authenticity. Like his heroes, artists like Bobby “Blue” Bland, Doug Sahm, Joe Tex, Patrick somehow manages to blend all of these influences into something all his own. . . Greyhounds are the Austin trio of Anthony Farrell (vocals, keyboards), Andrew Trube (vocals and guitar) and Ed Miles (drums). Many music fans remember Farrell and Trube as key members of JJ Grey's band MOFRO for many years. After parting with Grey in 2016 to focus full-time on Greyhounds, the band has only left the road to record and release two full-length records.’ . . In 2016, while recording at Sun Studios for the PBS series "Sun Studio Sessions", Greyhounds met Memphis native and acclaimed engineer, Matt Ross-Spang. Soon afterwards, Matt moved his operation to the newly refurbished Sam Phillips Recording studio. Greyhounds were familiar with the studio, and its deep history, and had always wanted to record there. It is the type of space that transports you to another era; the perfect place to make the type of record Greyhounds were interested in making: a less produced, and more spontaneous style of recording, all straight to tape like many of the classic music that was made there in its heyday. And Ross-Spang, is the perfect engineer, steeped as he is in the old school style of making records. . .
