Next Friday, May 24th, I will be exhibiting my latest work at @affinitybrewco in Bermondsey from 3-9pm. So whenever you get off work, swing by for a delicious craft beer and check out my latest painting, a short film, alongside selected artworks and prints.
Whats the story?
I was curious about London's rising culture in craft beer and am fortunate enough to have my brother from another mother @affinity_brew_stirl working as the head of production for Affinity Brew Co. He invited me to spend a day at his work and learn how beer is made first-hand. I sketched him working amongst the various kettles and tanks, and am developing the sketch into an oil painting. Whilst I was there I also filmed a day in the life at the brewery.
For craft beer lovers the beer he was brewing that day is has been named Paper Mountains. "A luxuriously-hopped, insanely quaffable drink, this Cascade, Amarillo and Falconers 7Cs IPA will be available on draught and in 500ml cans to take away." For those who aren't in on the jargon he's a bloody good brewer and is launching the beer next Friday at the brewery's tap room. I will have my finished oil painting on show along with my short film and a number of other selected artworks. I will also be doing a live painting demonstration of my "City Punch" series on the evening.
