Yesterday marked the opening of ‘Mondo perduto’, an exhibition celebrating the work of Italian photographer Paolo Di Paolo, at the MAXXI National Museum of 21st Century Arts in Rome. It has been nearly 50 years since the 94-year-old photographer has picked up a camera but together with @gucci and Giovanna Calvenzi, they have curated an exhibition featuring over 250 photos taken from 1954-1968. The photographer reminisces, “In 1946/1947 I became acquainted with the camera in a style of photography that didn’t exist before. For the first time in Italy, people started to focus on people.” Director Vittorio de Sica and Raquel Welch by Di Paolo in 1967. Earlier this month Pat McGrath’s MOTHERSHIP landed in @theofficialselfridges, now home to the largest collection of her products in Europe. The set is complete with her very own android, made by @maryhoward_setdesign, which was inspired by Brigitte Helm’s character in the 1927 film ‘Metropolis’. “She’s the original fembot to grace the silver screen,” says @patmcgrathreal, “she’s a beautiful, timeless creature who reflects the era in which she resides, whether it’s a 1920’s Utopia or twenty-first century London.” Click the link in our bio to read the full interview with Pat McGrath. “It was important for us to highlight the special relationship he had with England, where he lived and worked for over 40 years, and the many designers he collaborated with. It has always been important for us to do justice to the filmmaker’s many fans as well as introduce Kubrick to audiences that may be less familiar with him.“ 20 years after Stanley Kubrick‘s death, London’s Design museum is about to open its doors to an archive of over 700 objects, films and interviews that span his 50 year career. We spoke to the curator, Adriënne Groen ahead of the opening. Read the full interview on thelovemagazine.co.uk RG @cine_aesthetic. Nicole Kidman from “Eyes Wide Shut” 1999
