thinkin’ bout chips...💭 Real talk though! I’ve always been self conscious about my body and it only magnified when I moved to NYC.
A couple years ago, a new friend made a comment about my lanky self and said something to the effect of “You’re so tall, you should be an adonis!” So unexpected, I didn’t realize we were at that level of friendship yet... I’ve been going to the gym regularly since then, slowly gaining more confidence with where I want my body to be...but also learning to love my body in any shape and taking care of it no matter what.
@lizzobeeating said something recently in an interview or on her instagram story about how being “self conscious” about our bodies has been given a negative connotation for too long; we SHOULD be “self conscious” - conscious of how our body is and loving every part of it. That kind of awareness is 🔥. Anywho, I’m learning to love my body more and more. I’ve found a workout regime that I REALLY love - big shout out to Coach Joe at @builtforthestage for helping me reach my fitness goals and, more importantly, helping me feel stronger not only in body, but mind. Still a work in progress, but why not share the process every so often?
