"Dance is the most fundamental of all art forms." - Twyla Tharp
Photo of “Cambrè”, by Emmarie Art, the artistic collaboration of Blaine Peters and Linda Johnson.
The sculpture is made out of steel wire and is 78" inches tall. It is located at 6484 Washington Street, near the Yountville Chamber of Commerce and Welcome Center.
Linda Johnson had drawn dancers all her life, most of them with long swirling continuous lines. Upon meeting Blaine Peters, he began to talk with her about creating sculptures from her drawings. Together, with her designs and his metal skills they began creating beautiful dancing sculptures.
Their entirely unique process in translating the visual rhythm of a line drawing into a three-dimensional object has resulted in an enlightening exploration of how such rigid materials can emulate a transformative moment in time.
