There she is. Welcome home, love.
This is the first photo of my entire life that upon seeing it I didn’t experience shame.
I didn’t criticize her. I didn’t condemn her.
I smiled because I recognized her.
I could see the clarity in her eyes, the strength of her heart and could feel the peace of her soul.
It was the first time I got to experience the person who I knew myself to be already.
The person who could experience unshakable peace amongst some of the wildest turbulence of life.
The person who could still love while also inside heartbreak and shattering disappointment.
The person who chose to believe that God’s promises weren’t just novel ideas, but rather were tangible experiences. The kind that you could sink your teeth into.
The person, who, through the presence of God decided to seek fervently after those promises.
The person who, in this moment, is able to see, accept and love herself through the eyes of God.
Teaching how to acknowledge, accept and love yourself is a radical way to live in today’s culture. It’s tough. It challenges all that we’ve been taught. AND...all of that is okay.
It’s worth the effort because you’re worth the effort to be seen, accepted and loved unconditionally. It’s a journey, yes, but we are all more than equipped with the strength and grace to endure the path.
If you’re needing it❤️...here’s your permission.
