Meet our featured teacher of the day: Karine Annick
Having briefly dabbled into the world of Yoga many years ago, I believe that Yoga re-found me when I needed it the most. It had, and continues to have a huge impact on my life- physically, emotionally & spiritually, both on and off the mat.
Inspired to share this truly amazing practice with others I immersed myself in the philosophy of Yoga and then trained to teach during a 2 year 200 hour YTT course with RYS Friends of Yoga International.
Although physical movement (asana) is a part of Yoga, as a teacher I want to share with people that Yoga is so much more than this. It is a wonderful and inclusive practice that I truly believe can create balance and harmony of mind, body and soul- leading us to live more compassionately towards ourselves and others. Through body, breath, mind- Yoga really can take you on the most wonderful journey of self discovery and understanding.
I teach classes and workshops in various locations across Birmingham- combining asana, pranayama, relaxation and meditation, much of which can be taken off the mat and into our everyday lives. I often get asked what “type” of Yoga I teach. The answer in its simplest form is essentially what I teach is “just Yoga”. Movement of body, stillness of mind, greater connection to self.
