A few weeks ago, I attended a writing workshop in Pittsburgh, to help give me guidance, motivation, and a little push to start my first book from two powerhouse queens with publishing deals & companies. Since then, I've been debating two major topics to write about, and feel like once I decide, my first manuscript will get done quick. A few things I learned:
-- Contrary to popular belief, book titles can't be copyrighted. Only way that can happen is if a book title belongs to a brand name that's already trademarked. I.e. Kraft macaroni and cheese
-- Unless you're directly defaming someone, you cannot be sued for writing your story from your point of view and writing your truth. If they want to tell their truth, they can write a book too. My mantra: "if they wanted you to write warmly about them, they should've treated you better." 😉
-- It's probably time for me to write about some really uncomfortable things. I'm not looking forward to it, yet I am. 😊 The artist is ready. The woman isn't yet.
What's YOUR next step?
Love, T 🖤
