#whole30Day17 update, for anyone that really cares lol... I’m hangin tough & absolutely determined to finish strong and compliant! Last week was stressful & I was cranky (sorry @coachangelocox ♥️), which made it a little more challenging... and being busy makes it more difficult to cook things that keep it interesting. The good thing is I am losing weight, losing bloat, virtually no lingering joint pain (I used to get up after sitting for awhile like an old lady 🤦🏻‍♀️) clothes are getting big on me, we are all eating healthier & less processed, & I am now actually craving things like roasted broccoli and sweet potatoes, without butter, sugars, etc. It has become a very simple “no-brainer” way to eat, & seems to get easier every day. I thought by now I’d be counting down the days until the 30 were over, but honestly I don’t see myself ever going back completely to my old eating habits... I just feel SO much better now already, just 17 days in 👍🏽

Day 17 of my second Whole30. I’m obsessed with this breakfast hash! No recipe, just all the delicious flavors I love, thrown together! Sautéed shallots and then compliant bacon, Brussels sprouts, butternut squash (dusted with cinnamon and cayenne, air fried w coco oil), mushrooms, and pearl onions, all skillet fried in bacon grease. If you think the W30 means you have to deprive yourself of good food, then wow are you wrong because I’m literally sitting here spooning it into my mouth right from the pan! 😂 and I like my food a little extra well done so that’s why it’s darker lol . . I love @maxlugavere ‘s perspectives about food. That single statement has completely changed how I think about my eating habits! Day seventeen recap: Tossed and turned in my sleep, but had great energy during the day. I wasn’t hungry and didn’t feel like eating breakfast, and I could feel the hunger monster around 11:30am. So, even if it is something little, breakfast will be ate. Madison had her Mother’s Day Tea at school, so I enjoyed a plate of fruit. The cookies they had looked delicious 😍 . .. ... .. . Breakfast: Nothing 😑 . .. . Morning Snack: Fruit. . .. . Lunch: (not pictured) Sautéed Shrimp, green beans with onion and bacon with cherries. As soon as I got back to work from Madison’s schools, I had to heat up my food and eat fast before I had to get back on the floor. . .. . Dinner: Roasted Orange Chicken & Vegetables. It was okay for something prepared 🤦🏼‍♀️ PS I wanted Chinese food or BWW wings, something that was just “comfort food” because I didn’t feel like cooking or even preparing. Day 17... My whole30 is still going good, but I’m not gonna lie lunches are hard for me. I get burnt out quick. I don’t mind leftovers, but I’m not one who enjoys making something one day and eating the same thing for 4-5 days in a row. Some things I can tolerate more then others and few are perfectly ok and don’t bother me, but there are few of those foods . Today I spiced up my regular Chicken & Apple sausages by adding potatoes with jalapeños, spinach, and small diced zucchini. Trying to get in as many veggies as I can where I can. I then topped it with my Tessemaes Habenero Ranch dressing. I can not recommend this dressing enough! It has made my otherwise bland food so yum! Food that normally at this point would be really boring is not, and let me tell you, I’m definitely getting to the I am bored and tired of making food part. This dressing though is seriously THE BEST!!! #whole30day17

Guys, food is what gets us excited in our house which can get a little tricky when eating clean is a priority to me. I love to get creative, try new things, and keep things exciting while putting a little twist on classic recipes. If you’re in the same boat...you gotta try this one! These turkey burger bowls are nothing less than de-lic-ious! Day 17 of Whole 30.⁣ ⁣ Meal 1: 2 eggs, 1 slice of bacon and sautéed brussels. I also had an iced matcha latte with 1/4 cup Trader Joe’s coconut milk, 6oz unsweetened almond milk, 1 tsp matcha powder and 1tsp vanilla bean powder blended and poured over ice. 100% vanilla bean powder is allowed, extracts are not. I think I prefer to whisk the matcha with a couple tbs or so of hot water first and then stir in the almond/coconut milk rather than blend it.⁣ ⁣ Pre-workout: 20g cashews⁣ ⁣ Workout: Lift 4, week 7 day 3 -shoulders and triceps. Not sure how many calories burned because I had a Fitbit issue. The workout was 39 min long. ⁣ ⁣ Post workout: 1 epic turkey strip and 99g sweet potato.⁣ ⁣ Meal 2: The last of leftovers of the sun dried tomato and basil chicken and spaghetti squash.⁣ ⁣ Meal 3: Chicken kale ceasar salad with Trader Joe’s seedy almond salad topper. ⁣ ⁣ This ends up at 31sp and 1,628 calories. #whole30 #whole30meals #whole30dayinthelife #whole30round2 #whole30day17

Whole30 Day 17... I went to take a picture by the window of this bulletproof coffee I made, then realised my chihuahua summed up my mood today perfectly. 😶 Picture this... Hungrier yesterday than I have been lately. Maybe it's due to the frigid temps and my body trying to stay warmer? Definitely needed some food between lunch and dinner. The key to making the perfect breakfast sweet potatoes is low and slow ✔️ I started off with equal parts avocado oil and my favorite @miyokoscreamery butter over the lowest flame. I added the cubed sweet potatoes and put the lid on (stirring occasionally). This basically steams them and gives them a perfect crunchy bite with a soft center 😍 Once they were cooked (about 10 minutes) I added some chopped bacon and fresh spinach until they were both cooked. Whole30 Dinner Day 17: I love that I made double of the green chile with spinach yesterday because that meant leftovers for dinner. It's a great recipe to double or triple because it tastes just as delicious reheated. Not going to lie, I can't wait to make this again once #Whole30 is over so I can pair it with some warm tortillas. Day 17 @whole30: Today was hard. Not because of cravings, but limited food choices. Despite requesting Whole30 catering, I had to patch my meals together. Breakfast was a bit of fruit and 2 eggs. Lunch was a few pieces of chicken salvaged from a wrap and a few leaves of spinach and strawberries that weren’t doused in cheese and dressing. 🙄By the end of the work day, my energy was super low for the first time all month. 🍔🥗Dinner was a big burger salad that I threw together in 2 minutes. (Ground turkey, tomatoes, lettuce, slaw mix, avocado, magic bean sauce as dressing shaken up in a big container). I roasted a bunch of sweet potatoes last night. It's so easy to do and this way I can have them handy for different meals. I especially love them for breakfast. . To roast sweet potatoes: -Preheat oven to 400 degrees -Slice the sweet potatoes in half, lengthwise -Brush the cut sides with olive oil -Place them cut side down on a nonstick cookie sheet or one covered in parchment paper -Roast until fork tender, usually about 30 minutes -Store in an air-tight container in the refrigerator until ready to use .
