Dinner tonight was a HIT. Oven baked wings (no sauce needed), sautéed green beans, carrots, and a side of fruit. I changed up my seasoning this time and my 10 year old asked if I could make this all the time bc she LOVED it so much! I love it when I find a dish the whole family enjoys. #whole30day16

Day sixteen recap: I woke up refreshed, energy level was stable all day and I drank 120oz of water. Staying hydrated is key 🙌🏼 I mentioned to one of my coworkers today that prepping and eating the right foods doesn’t feel like work anymore. It has only even 16 days, but it feels natural to prepare food ahead of time and know exactly what I will be eating. . .. ... .. . Breakfast: 2 egg whites & 1 whole egg sautéed with ghee and spinach. Bacon, cherries and coffee on the side ☕️ . .. ... .. . Lunch: Shrimp with greens beans, onion and bacon, with cherries and cucumbers on the side. . .. . Day 16!! My mornings are typically rushed-so we are out the door around 6:45 [coffee in hand] so I can get my husband to work (we have one vehicle) and my daughter to school. . . I'm not back home in the mornings until 8:30 or so. 🤷🏼‍♀️ When I get home, I'll do my routine straightening up from my oldest daughters breakfast, make breakfast for my younger two, laundry, make our beds and whatever else needs to get done that morning. All that being said, it's normal for my "breakfast" to be at 10:30-sometimes even 11. Then I am out the door around 1:45 because my daughter gets out of school at 2:30. So if you're looking at my food and thinking "this girl doesn't eat" TRUST ME! I do. Ask my dad, who always seems to FaceTime whenever I'm eating! 😂 . . I snack on quick fruit. Apples, bananas and nuts like cashews and almonds. These types of things I hardly ever seem to photograph. Hence the same picture of the same banana. 😂 . . Then we eat dinner relatively early-around 5:30. And I will more often than not have green tea or lemon water in the evenings in place of wine. 😆 . . This morning for my breakfast I sautéed mushrooms, bell pepper and spinach in coconut oil + 3 eggs (my extra one not pictured) + blueberries + clementine. . . Took a banana on the road. Also had cashews in the car. . . Dinner is one of my all time favs. Sausage, sweet potato, red onion, red bell pepper, and broccoli roasted for maybe 15-20 mins. I dice and boil the sweet potatoes prior just slightly so everything cooks evenly in the oven. Seasoned with s+p and garlic powder. SO GOOD and so super easy! What are your Whole30 go to dinners? This chili casserole was so good & so easy! • I also made dairy free sour cream for the first time with coconut cream, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, & salt! Yesterday marked Day 1️⃣6️⃣ and we had such a fun lunch! Whole30 day 16...halfway mark. The food is still not boring, my stomach is settling finally, I’m hardly missing the wine, and I’m sleeping better. All in all I’m feeling pretty darn good...but I think I’m still waiting for the #tigerblood 😉 Maybe tomorrow...lol

Whole30 day 16, breakfast & dinner. Breakfast was turkey bacon, scrambled eggs with spinach & tomatoes with a side of avocado. Hubby made the bacon while I made the eggs 😊 Dinner was delicious pork butt cooked in the crockpot, garlic green beans & a mushroom and sauteed onion cauliflower rice. I fast 6 Days a week. I don't feel like I was on my game with eating today at all. Everything I ate today was technically acceptable, but I prefer to eat a whole lot more vegetables and less snacks. My smoothie bowl did have a big serving of greens in it. Also not pictured were my sweet potato rounds that I ate with the chicken, Cause I ate them too fast. Not letting it slow me down. I didn't get my workout in... I was so busy everything just ended up a bit chaotic. #whole30day16

#Whole30 BLTA Ranch Lettuce Wrap . Cut the stems out of 4-5 romaine leaves so you’re left with a shape. Overlap the pieces alternating with the top of the leaves facing out. Layer with sliced turkey, avocado, bacon, tomato, red onion and drizzled with ranch dressing @primalkitchenfoods. Prepare on parchment and use the parchment to help you roll it into a tight wrap. Like a burrito. Leftovers are a wonderful thing friends. #whole30day16 started off with half a @larabar. I have gotten to where it’s getting harder to eat a whole bar because it gets too sweet. Lunch was a wonderful salad with leftover steak from the night before. Pork chops in a date rub. They went wonderful with baked sweet potato “fries” and cucumbers 🥒 🍠 😋. It probably was a no-no but I had my ranch two times yesterday. I have used it so much the last week that had to make a new batch! It’s that GOOD!!!! Whole30 Dinner Day 16: This weekend my brother-in-law's sister made my recipe (really my dad's recipe) from the blog for this spicy, nutritious and amazing pork green chile with spinach. I was so excited to hear she had made it and that the whole family liked it! Since then I couldn't get it out of my head. So I bought some pork and spinach and indulged my craving this evening. The best part is that with some slight modifications this amazingly delicious dish can be made #whole30compliant. Canada’s food guide got a much needed makeover today! While a lot of people get caught up on diets, one thing all can agree on is lots of fruits and veggies and staying hydrated. I also love the positive approach without creating restrictions. Also great to see the food groups gone (ex. meat and dairy). This plate is far more inclusive of the multitude of diets Canadians eat. However, notably missing are recommendations on fats. 🤔 As I wrap day 16 of @whole30, (no food pics again today) this update is so promising to me. So many “diets” can be great for one person and terrible for another. Some diets are truly unhealthy and restrictive or can be unhealthy and/or unsustainable if you bend the rules (the all bacon and cheese keto diet). A framework like this new food guide can help people to make educated decisions about which “diets” are healthy and which may miss the mark. What do you think of the new guide?
