I can't get over how much my appetite has decreased in just 11 days since starting Whole30. I never realized how much that dairy and even Keto approved "sweets" affect my hunger. And this is exactly why I’m trying this even while pregnant. And while the first week and a half was pretty rough it was definitely redeemed with this teriyaki salmon over fried cauliflower rice. The sauce was so good! (And yes there is corn in here which I know is not compliant- it was in the bag of frozen veggies 🤷‍♀️). The thing about doing a Whole30 cleanse is it forces you to cook. No processed foods allowed. I can’t just have a salad every meal so over the past couple of years, I have been teaching myself to cook. That and having a child that depends on me not feeding him take-out and TV dinners every night. I have to say, I am so proud of myself for throwing this together tonight. It was my first time making a Thai Curry dish. I used cauliflower rice instead of white rice. The kitchen looks like a tornado went though it but it was really good!🙌🏼🤗💃🏻... Orange shredded chicken kale salad with pickled onions! • This is what I meal prepped with the @Whole30 slow cooker book. I’ll be honest, it wasn’t my favorite. I struggled to eat it after a few days because I was getting sick of it. But, I really liked the salad dressing that I made so I’ll keep that in mind the next time I make a salad! • Day 12 and I’m almost halfway there! Last night I slept through the whole night AGAIN! I only sleep through the entire night when I’m on the Whole30 it’s crazy. • How do you sleep when you’re on the Whole30?

Happy #flexfriday Babes! 💪🏼 I made the best of a 3:40 wake up! Got in all my journaling and read up on what this Day 12 of @whole30 will be like in by Day by Day book, and then hit the basement at 5am for the #tiubootycall 😄 Started out with a DEEP stretch with @sarahbethyoga and followed that up with the 5:30 #studiotoneitup Sculpt & Stretch! I found it fitting that I wore my @pure_barre tank for this class! 🤪 This was NOT what I thought class was going to be, although I should’ve known better as it was @studiotoneituptori teaching! In the end, I LOVED IT!!! 💯 My legs my feel like jello and my shoulders may not be able to carry all my bags today but 🤷🏽‍♀️ oh well because I feel GREAT! So #whole30day11 is supposed to be the day when the most people quit. It was a tough day, but I made it through. Now we are on the rollercoaster that is #whole30day12, described as a “boundless energy” day. What they failed to mention about day 12 is that 5 year olds can sometimes wake up in a horrible mood and proceed to live their day walking a fine line between peaceful bliss and completely losing their shit. Currently, we are in the “losing my shit” phase, since older sister is out for a special birthday dinner. So maybe you are wondering how much I want a glass of wine and some Chinese takeout right now? And the answer is YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW HOW MUCH. But I’m just hanging out with my most extreme level of patience and some water. Up there is last night’s meat and potatoes dinner. I get why people quit right now, but since I’ve done this a few times, I know giving up now would be stoopid cause it’s right before some magic is about to start. Hopefully. Please. 🥡TAKE OUT OR TACO BOWLS? 🌮 Some days you just don’t feel like cooking and all the fast food options on your drive home from work seem like the easiest option. {this was my general consensus yesterday as I struggled through day 11 and resisted the urge to order a pizza delivery from my couch while falling asleep at 7pm in my pjs. Hence, the lack of an insta post 🤪}. I haven’t been doing great with photos of what I’ve been eating this week, not that those photos have been particularly appetizing looking anyway. Lol. It’s been an off week emotionally, but I’ve been diligent in staying on whole30. I’ve also been BEAT this week, which I guess is right on track timeline-wise. #dinner #whole30day12. . After a full day of work it’s always nice to be able to sit down to a nice meal that doesn’t take long to make!! . . I made #freshsalmon from the seafood counter at #kroger. Seasoned with S&P and basil. Seared both sides in the #castironskillet (I ❤️my cast iron) then finished baking for about 6-7 min. . I tossed Brussel sprouts, mushrooms and onions that were cleaned and cut from my #mealprep in a ziplock. I coated my veggies with olive oil S&P and about a tbs of #coconutaminos. Once the veggies were evenly coated, I dumped them into my sautée pan and cooked for while my salmon was baking. . #healthydinner #nodairy #nograins (I secretly wanted a glass of wine but instead I had soda water) . #happythursday

I can’t stop thinking about this #crustless quiche I made yesterday for a brunch. Recipe from @realsimplegood. Spinach, mushrooms, onion and sausage (I used @bilinskisausage chicken and Italian herbs) Recipe calls for 1/2 cup of coconut milk instead of regular milk and I personally could not taste any coconut flavor. Day 12 of Whole 30 and I’m feeling real good. I had extra energy and so ended up walking around the Charles and Boston today (approx 5.5 miles). My face has cleared up, I’ve been sleeping real well and I’m not bloated. ⁣ ⁣ Meal 1 (12) - 1 Bilinski chicken sausage sautéed with Brussel sprouts. 2 slices of bacon and 1tbs Georgia Grinders hazelnut butter on it. Coffee is the usual - unsweetened almond milk, hazelnut nutpods and 1 scoop collagen peptides.⁣ ⁣ “Meal 2” - This is where you just have to do the best you can on Whole30. I was out and after walking the Charles River I felt like I needed some fuel, so I had 1 coconut cream Larabar around 2:30 and an Epic Chicken sriracha bar around 4:30.⁣ ⁣ Meal 3 (6:30) - 1 burger on a plantain “bun.” See @julia_and_child stories on how to do that. I topped the burger with 1 tbs homemade mayo and approx 2 tsp Olo chipotle paste (to make a chipotle mayo). I had that with butternut squash fries, new primal bbq sauce (purchased from⁣ Whole Foods) and 2 grillo pickle spears. The pic was taken before I topped the burger with the other half of the plantain. If you swipe you can see a real foggy picture of what it looks like. I guess the heat from the food fogged up my phone camera. I can’t say enough of how much I enjoyed this meal.⁣ ⁣ This day ends around 42sp and 1,616 calories. This is a guesstimate. I counted 1 tbs coconut oil from frying the plantain. I’d planned to cook myself a nice dinner for Valentines Day, but then decided I’d rather mostly give myself the night off. I nixed half the plan, and just made the Buttery Green Beans with Toasted Almonds from @eatlivtravwrite ‘s fabulous #inthefrenchkitchenwithkids . It’s day 12! Almost halfway, and though full-on tiger blood hasn’t kicked in yet, I’m feeling slimmer and I definitely have more energy! My skin is finally clearing up after an initial detox breakout and my nails are growing like crazy. Cravings are minimal, and I’ve already gone through nearly two jars of almond butter. I give you, #whole30 days 12 and 13! Last night I really treated myself to a marinated filet mignon and some duck fat roasted potatoes! Not pictured is the pear with almond butter I had tonight along side my soup. Yesterday was a really good food day, and a really good day in general. Lunch was a little smaller than I would have liked, and dinner was supplemented with a Larabar at LCA. Turkey and bacon poppers (that ended up more like patties...) Turkey mince, bacon, courgette, garlic and parsley, balled and coated in coconut flour, egg and then almond flour. Served with Frank's hot sauce 😍 This was waaaay too much effort.
