I have a Love and hate relationship with deadlifts 😏 I actually tend to avoid them and do Romanian deadlifts instead as I just don’t feel comfortable doing them especially as I had a back injury years ago... But I’ve found exercises that still do the same thing which is awesome 😜💦 Anyone else out there feel the same 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

BACK & ABS: I don’t know if the cold weather has me moving slower, or time just went by really fast today, but I feel like I didn’t fit in nearly as many workouts as I wanted. I do know this cold weather has me Moore has a tent to get up, get ready, and go. I’m really having to dig down deep for that motivation and not listen to that voice that tells me to stay in my warm cozy bed. The more you get out of your head and push yourself through these next cold months, be proud or you will be when next summer is Mont start rolling around. Think about how much more progress you will have made by next bathing suit season if you start now instead of for a New Year’s resolution or in March when you realize it It’s too late. Food. Food. Food. ⁣ ⁣ ✖️Since entering the fitness world 2 decades ago I had become obsessed with food. I love food in any form. It’s very rare that there’s something that I don’t eat. I also went from - not being able to live without breakfast to fasting until early afternoon (not for weigh-loss reasons). For me, food is truly one of the biggest pleasures in life. ⁣ ⁣ ✖️We now live in the world where information travels super fast. With it there are many food crazes and countless food trends that sweep across us. Media and marketing bombard us with “the next best thing”. Some of it are positive like making people aware of whole foods and clean eating however this information overload creates a lot of confusion and anxiety. ⁣ ⁣ ✖️ How I approach the diet is all about positive nutrition and not deprivation. I’m not into aggressive dieting, which I have seen many coaches prescribe and could take you years to pick up the pieces, if ever. ⁣ ⁣ ✖️ Enjoy life, enjoy food (responsibly!) and if weight-loss is your mission then make sure you are staying within your calorie allowance. That’s the 🗝. It’s really that simple. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣

Wednesday💪🏼 Happy hump day, what are you all training today? . I’ve been loving upper body focused workouts recently!! But I feel like it’s made me lose focus on my lower body. (This happens) I’ve decided I just need to mix up my workouts more and bring back the excitement I’m missing by maybe incorporating some new exercises or techniques. . I’ve also decided to (try) and increase my lower body workouts to x3 a week and see what progress I can make 🍑 - this will depend a lot though on rugby and matches I have each week. . 🌿DIET🌿 . . . The most important thing about my diet is that I NEVER count calories ❌.Because I have switched to early morning workout sessions, I essentially have 2 Breakfasts (LOL)😅 . 🕛7am | Protein Shake (21g) @myproteinuk. . 🕛8:30am | Porrdige oats with fruit (usually 1 banana) . 🕛1pm | Veggie filled cous cous or noodles . 🕛1:30pm | Fruit with high protein yoghurt (Lidl do it amazing and CHEAP- Icelandic) . 🕛3:30pm | Coffee with a snack . 🕛8:30pm | Veggie filled dinners with fish addition (2 x weekly) . The most important thing about having an active lifestyle is a healthy, balanced diet. I can honestly say that I eat what I want, when I want. For me, the most important thing is the process of cooking because you have control of your salt/sugar intake aswell as that all important PORTION SIZE. . If you are working out and have a bad diet (high sugar, no balance with veg/fruit OR CRASH DIETING) then you are not giving your body the nutrition it needs to tone, build muscle mass or lose body fat. . A key source is also HYDRATION 💧. Water is essential in the break down of food and pumping oxygen to the brain. If you are working out, you need to replace all the sweat you are loosing to prevent dehydration. . Food is a privilege that we all take for granted I think.
