#ThoughtfulThursday . . I generally post some sort of motivational quote like this on Mondays, and (depending on how motivated I'm feeling haha) I expand on it and try to add some practical application to the "rah-rah you can do this!" picture. . . Today, I'm using one of those rah-rah quotes as the basis for a Thoughtful Thursday post, because I want you to consider this from a different perspective. . . Motivation is not hard to uncover when you're beginning a new weight loss plan, a new diet, a new workout program, or a new routine of any sort. Fresh starts are exciting! . . But when the shiny newness and excitement wears off, and the routine of eating right and exercising starts feeling like a bit more of a drag...what is going to motivate you to keep on going? . . Or maybe you reach your weight loss goal and maintenance feels boring. What will motivate you to keep plugging away at your healthy habits in order to maintain that weight loss? . . These are questions that I cannot answer for you. I can suggest some long-term "why"s (and I will below), but my suggestions are simply examples. Your "why" has to mean something to you. . . Examples of long-term "why"s: -because my mom had knee replacement at a young age so I want to keep off the extra weight -because I want to be able to demonstrate a cartwheel for my 4 year old -because my grandchildren love to play video games and I'm worried that they are too sedentary...I want to be a good example to them and be able to take them hiking too. -because Type 2 diabetes runs in my family -because I still want to be fit enough to run 10Ks 10 years from now. -because I have finally made peace with food and I want to keep it that way -because I know my kids are watching -because I love how energetic I feel and I don't want that to change -because I want to delay moving into assisted living as long as possible -because I now know how damaging yo-yo dieting is to my health -because I threw out my back almost monthly before I started getting serious about strengthening my core -because I want to create a healthy food environment in our home . . ⬇️CONTINUED IN THE COMMENTS ⬇️

Losing weight isn't something that can be rushed - if your lifestyle has led to you slowly gaining weight then now you need to start making little changes to start slowly and healthily losing the weight. . I currently having a little setback in my journey, i have injuried my spine while working out. It's been 6 days now that I have been unable to walk or pain free.
