Tbh. I have no idea what I’m doing at the gym most of the time. I do what feels right and safe cos I’m terrified of hurting myself. But don’t get me wrong, you have to push yourself. Just make sure it feels right first ya know 🤔 . . I’m no deadlift expert, but I thiiink these were decent? If you’re an expert and see any flaws, feel free to DM me, I think I take constructive criticism well. I just want to better myself. Wanted to take a video without the sweater so I could really watch myself, but the weather was not havin it 🌬 Dont be afraid to take videos of yourself. I used to be really self conscious about that. But you’re taking them for YOU and YOUR GROWTH, who cares what other people think amirite? I record myself a lot just to make sure everything’s lookin right, and delete it right after cos I need storage 😂 . . I did progressive overload for these deadlifts. Some upper body pressing action -Behind the Neck Push Jerk 3x3 Currently participating in a study so the amount of lower body work I do is limited to the prescribed amount I am given in the study but I try to improve my upper body work when I have free time. -According to CSCCa’s definition of the purpose of this exercise, “the Push Jerk is an explosive movement with the purpose of synergistically recruiting and firing several muscle groups in unison producing force that moves the bar overhead with power” -this is a variation of the Olympic lift clean and jerk, Olympic lifts are great for developing Rate of Force Production, increasing the speed at which your muscles develop force, as well as neuromuscular control improvements, great addition for power athletes and are greatly effective tools in a program when instructed and utilized correctly. Main focus of this lift is INTENT- move the bar as fast as possible -I prefer behind the neck positioning because it is less stress on my wrist and collarbone, if I were a weightlifter then obviously front rack or split jerk would be a more specific variation of this movement. -I would be sure to master the military press->Push press before moving a client/athlete to this exercise. #strengthtraining #olympiclifting #weightlifting #gymmotivation #personaltrainer at Vestavia Country Club

I hate asking for help. Often, if I can’t take care of an issue myself, I feel stupid, useless, and curl further inward - without reaching out. And nothing gets solved or fixed. But let me tell you, that approach is so unhealthy. It is NOT better to suffer in silence than to ask someone for guidance or assistance. It doesn’t help you to stay ignorant or alone. What does help, though, is asking. Speaking up. It’s okay to admit that you’re lost, confused, that you made a mistake, that you don’t know what you’re doing. Today I learned how weak I am. My max deadlift was 225 which means I have a lot and I mean a lot of work if I want to reach my 300 goal. I think my coach knows I love squats, so he programmed 150 reps worth of squats in all different forms. 3s x 20r of Front squats was a killer way to end my workout, couldn’t find a rack, had to adapt, but definitely eager to increase weight next week to at least 95lb or 115lb to challenge myself at 20 reps. I can say my vertical has increased to an easy 24” which I definitely feel I can still increase it. Leg day is like pay day, and like Tom Platz says, “If, you can do 5 reps, then you can do 5 more reps,” and I did end up hitting fairly decent weight simply almost my bodyweight at 135lb with 5s x 12r with high bar squats. You have to check out those quad striations in my leg press video. Now, just have to practice some posing before I get a good night of rest.
