. 🍑 Hump Day 🍑 . . Can’t remember the last time I had a crack at the CrossFit Total. Honestly can’t remember the last time I went heavy with the Deadlifts either... . . Far off my PB for Squat and Deadlift. But did PB the Strict Press 💪🏻💪🏻 . . Assault bike is what it says, ASSAULT!!! Finished off with 6 x 90sec with 17cal.... First 3 were ok.... All right day 1 is in the books!! Did the treadmill for 20min with a 12.0 elevation with 3.5 speed burning 222 calories. After that I stretched out and did my barbell warmup which is x5 good morning x5 back squats x5 strict press x5 front squats. After that I did squat cleans tonight really proud of myself so here’s how the numbers went 1x2 82% 130lbs 1x2 85% 135lbs; 1x1 88% but I was feeling so good I did 93% which is 150/160lbs which is my squat clean pr and I felt even awesome that I did it one more time but for heavy double. Really proud of myself my squat cleans are coming together. After that I did a long chipper workout finished with 28:00 using 75lbs. Yes my goal was to finish within or under 21min but I didn’t finish it but it was a fun workout I pushed myself to the end. After that I did 3rds of abs/oblique work x15 scissor kicks and 18 scissor twist, 10 standing kB oblique crunch. Ended the night 10min in the sauna. A little change of scenery tonight. After a stressful day I needed to get my sweat on! Popped into my local gym and done a wee workout. . It started as a 15 min AMRAP of: • 5 Hang Power Cleans (40kg) • 10 Burpees • 15 Box Jumps (24 inches) . A swarm of people then appeared when I was in finishing up the second round for a class so I just shortened in to 3 rounds for time. Also doing a bit of work on trying to keep my back straight, without the aid of a belt, during deadlifts when I get heavy, video shows a single at 100kg and I can definitely see the improvements! If you are stalling out, just remember to #nevergiveup . ⠀ ⠀ Start in a good tight hollow position, moving into the most aggressive arch (Superman), get your hips high (should feel horizontal but I assure you they aren’t), and then press that bar down. All this being very specific to bar muscle. ⠀ ⠀ #Relish the moment when it happens. #Learn from the moment if it doesn’t happen. Build on your foundation for next year. Strict pull ups and kipping chest bar are great bench marks for muscle up success. But never be afraid to try.
