Yesterday’s deadlifts moved well considering i’m still suffering with glute/hamstring issues. - 130kg best and heaviest in months before pauses and beltless sets. Don’t think I’ve lifted 130kg at my current BW 🤔 so happy how it moved - - — BUT after Tuesday’s deadlifts I was left with bruising on the top of my thighs (normal for me!) PR ALERT! I've been a lazy fuck this last week and been feeling sorry for myself. It's been pretty difficult moving around in general, and I just made a bunch if excuses not to go to the gym this week. @sammie_pie_rose1515 and I went to see a show earlier today and I was just going to sit my fat, lazy ass on the couch again, but something told me to get my fucking ass up and get to the gym. I just had hit PRs today in my head. Since I am not programming with coach until I recover, I've been a little lost at what to do in the gym. Well, I know I can bench so I just decided to get after it today. I'm going to take the 380. Even if the spotter did tap the bar - that one was all me, I don't care, I have a torn achillies LOL. I hit both 370 and 380 which were both PRs. The 370 moved so easily. 380 should've been smoother, but I rushed my set up and couldn't stay tight. I'm fucking hitting 400 this year. Surgery in a week. A little recovery and then I'm coming back!! 52 days until Brits and @phatmuscle_coaching and I have been taking things lighter after the North Wales Qualifiers. When I started working with Sam he immediately noticed a few tweaks we could make to become more stable, I think we’ve achieved that with 50kg 5x5 yesterday and hopefully now my bench will shoot past my 75kg max (which I hit in December before I had a training break) in time for brits💪🏽💪🏽

Main exercise today was 1 1/2" defacit deadlifts. 335 x 5 reps x 3 sets. Defacit deadlifts have helped my max more than anything else I think. I highly recommend doing these if you have trouble getting the bar off the floor like I do. Usually if I can get the bar more than a few inches off the ground I can get it all the way locked out. It's funny because I can have a really smooth 1 rep max but if I put just 5 more pound on the bar it just doesn't move lol. . . I have a torn achillies, what your excuse? Today was an awesome day. I felt great squatting and deadlifting - had zero pain doing the movements. I honestly could have kept going up in weight, but the only problem is this boot. It makes my foot sit 2 inches higher, which puts a lot of strain on my hip. Any heavier weights and I probably risk some injury there. I am going to try the sissy bar on Tuesday with a weight under my left foot to try to raise me up. I did sets of 20 goblet squats today with a 5 lb weight under my foot and that felt great. 1st workout since tearing my achillies. I felt sorry for myself all week and decided to get my ass in gear and do the bench workout coach had programmed for me. I was surprised at how tight I could actually stay on the bench. I couldn't get as much of an arch, not that I could any way, as I wanted - but I got more than I thought I could. I really needed this workout. Bubbies @sammie_pie_rose1515 also decided to crush her bench press today. She rapped out 45lbs for 5 (just did a PR on that last week) and then got a PR @ 50lbs and got it for 2!! Wooooo I also figured out that I could probably squat with a wide stance on a bench. The Weight will need to be super light, but I can at least get some movement in. Let's see how tomorrow goes. Fun training day today, I had more time than usual so I did all the squats! Worked up to #155 3x5 after I got #145 for 8 which is #20 up from last week and 9 weeks post-op. But the workout I'm currently regretting consisted of sled sprints/high pulls with 180 #, snatch burpees with 30 # DB and planks, cable delt flys with "pull up" knee raises, weighted step ups with renegade rows/pushups 20 #, burpee/roundhouse combos on the bag with rear delt flys. Finished off with a 500 M row. 3 singles at 102.5kg which felt better than they seem to look before dropping into sleeveless triples at 92.5kg - I’m beginning to find squats easier without sleeves now 🤔 it’s really helped my confidence - Bench 2 singles at 57kg but my ass was up 🤦‍♀️ before spotto press for 5s at 51kg....first 2 sets always feel easy then any sets thereafter burn!!!! - - Now I need my glute to get better for deadlifts tomorrow!
