Have you ever thought about what the world would be like if the Europeans hadn’t of colonized practically everything?
While on a tour in Cusco, I commented on how much I loved some of the architecture and pointed to the church pictured here. My tour guide quickly let me know that though this building is nice, the Spaniards, when they invaded Peru, tore down most of the buildings, homes and, churches the Incan’s had made and rebuilt on top. He then spoke about their native language and how it was almost obsolete as now, most people speak Spanish, but the language is now being taught in schools to ensure it is never forgotten. The Peruvians have a strong pride in their culture, language and history and want it to be known to all who visit, which I respect.
You see the Spanish and their influence all across the Americas.
