You do not have a disorder.
You are not difficult.
You are not a hypochondriac.
You do not have a dysfunction.
You are not wrong.
I know it doesn’t feel that way,
when you bend and break on a gentle breeze,
when the tender tide tosses you,
your way through a world
of muchness and chaos.
And yet, is it muchness, you wonder.
You look up from the ebony clay,
on your bruised knees,
and all around you
the lighter souls dance on a breeze,
float on waves,
soak in the sensations,
and - smiling -
You question and curse
But you, Love,
you contain the shadow and light
of a million moons and suns,
a billion constellations
make their shimmering homes in you.
And you hold space,
expanding with courage
and grace unknown.
The universe chose you,
to be the soft womb
life. . .
—— “Sensitive,” an original poem from mend .
Oh sweet friends, this poem just spilled onto the page today, starting as a letter to myself and ending as a circle of light and love for all those sensitive souls making their way in a difficult, beautiful, sacred world. May we celebrate our tender, tenacious hearts. And may we take good care of our glorious selves. xo K
