TAG A FRIEND WHO WOULD LOVE THIS RECIPE😍 ➡️30 minute meal prep: roasted vegetable bowls with green tahini Follow @deliciousvegetarianvideos👈🔥 ▶️INGREDIENTS ➡️Roasted Vegetables 8 large carrots, peeled and chopped 3 golden potatoes, chopped 1 head of broccoli, cut into florets 1 head of cauliflower, cut into florets olive oil and salt Green Tahini 1/2 cup olive oil (mild tasting) 1/2 cup water 1/4 cup tahini a big bunch of cilantro and/or parsley 1 clove garlic squeeze of half a lemon (about 2 tablespoons) 1/2 teaspoon salt (more to taste – I like 3/4 teaspoon) ➡️Optional Extras: hard boiled eggs avocados chicken, tofu, any other protein ▶️INSTRUCTIONS Prep: Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Roasted Vegetables: Arrange your vegetables onto a few baking sheets lined with parchment (I keep each vegetable in its own little section). Toss with olive oil and salt. Roast for 25-30 minutes. Sauce: While the veggies are roasting, blitz up your sauce in the food processor or blender. Finish: Voila! Portion and save for the week! People don't like to allow them thoughts or feelings."-Temple Grandin _ THE TRUTH BEHIND THAT GLASS OF MILK, THAT PIECE OF CHEESE. In order to produce milk, a cow must have a calf. Cows used for dairy are repeatedly impregnated, often on what the industry calls of "rape rack", to keep their milk production high. The cows are milked by machines multiple times a day, often live in filthy concrete stalls or crowded barns, and suffer from diseases such as udder infection mastitis. _ After only four to six years of their natural 20-year lifespan, they are worn out and sent to slaughter. The cows are packed into trucks for often long trips to the slaughterhouse. In winter, they my freeze to the sides of the trucks; in summer, they may die from dehydration or heat stroke. At slaughterhouses, they are shot in the head with a high-powered steel rod called a captive bolt gun. If that doesn't kill them, they are skinned and dismembered while still alive. _ Just one of the cows female calves will replace her mother in the milking herd; the rest of the calves will likely be sold for veal. Calves used veal are stolen from their mothers just days after birth and chained by the neck in crates. They are fed and iron-deficient formula to keep their flesh pale, making them sick, weak and unhealthy. After 12 to 16 weeks they are slaughtered. Yes they slaughter babies. The veal industry is just one of the heartbreaking results of the dairy industry. _ When you consume dairy products, you are responsible for breaking the bonds between mother and child. 𝒮𝑜𝓂𝑒𝓉𝒾𝓂𝑒𝓈 in adult life it’s hard to stay on track of things like social life and having fun, I find it hard to find the right balance between work, sleep, sports and friends. I feel so blessed to have friends in my life who occasionally remind me to have some fun! ✨ Today I had the most wonderful lunch with my dear friend, the food the atmosphere and the conversations were amazing. You should really go and see the amazing interior at Hoed En Krelis in Amsterdam (velvet chairs, do I need to say more?!) ♥️ I had Turkish eggs, which are soft boiled eggs with harissa, spinach and feta cheese (I was actually missing a slice of bread or toast with this dish) and my friend had the Avocado toast🥑 Everything was delicious, the service was a bit of track (maybe because it’s Sunday) but over all everything was perfect for a lunch date! When the food was served I had to wait ten minutes for everyone to finish taking photos. It was a bit of a wait on a Sunday Brunch time but totally worth it. They have replaced their Oreo French Toast with even more delicious Brioche French Toast. Full English breakfast doesn't need to be bacon and sausage. Broccoli rabe 😍 one of my favorite veggies + it’s filled with so many nutrients including vitamins C, E, K, B complex, iron, calcium, potassium, manganese, and folate! 🌿 . . Simple sautéed broccoli rabe ✨ 1 bunch broccoli rabe 2 tbsp olive oil 3-4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced Juice of 1/2 lemon 1 pinch crushed red pepper (or more if you like a kick!) Salt and pepper to taste Grated Parmesan (optional) . 1) Wash and give the broccoli rabe a rough chop, then blanch it in boiling water for 2 min 2) Drain and transfer to a pot of ice water to stop the cooking (and keep the bright green color!) 3) In a large sauté pan, heat 2 tbsp olive oil. Add the broccoli rabe and garlic, sautée for ~5 min 4) While sautéing, add the juice of 1/2 lemon, salt, pepper and crushed red pepper to taste 5) Top with Parmesan cheese and enjoy!
