Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu
A vegetarian who can eat without a reservation
New menu for vegan released!
In order to respond to the rising global demand and food diversity, the hotel will consider the Rugby World Championships and International Conferences held this fall.
Started selling original vegetarian & vegan dishes from May 13 (Mon). Last year, the number of foreign visitors to Japan exceeded 30 million, and it is assumed that about 1.5 million vegetarians are among them.
About 50% of tourists visiting Japan in 2018 will have vegetarian / vegan food preferences, 25% will have halal diet preferences, and 25% of the British will have free flom diet preferences.
Reference example) Meal request at international conference with 1,000 participants; 25% vegetarian, 15% halal, 5% gluten free
A total of about 45% of guests request “food restrictions”
Looking ahead to international events held in the Yokohama area and large-scale MICE, etc., we will provide services tailored to the needs of the same cuisine as a complement to visiting guests and people with high health awareness in Japan.
Both vegetarian and vegan dishes do not use animal foods such as meat and fish, but consist only of vegetable foods such as grains, beans and vegetables. As much as possible, additives such as preservatives and coloring agents, chemical seasonings, refined sugar and salt are not used, and nuts and dried fruits are used without oil and antioxidants.
Furthermore, in vegan dishes that do not use eggs or dairy products, all vegetables have a strong commitment to cooking, such as removing vegetables called five chopsticks (green onions, leeks, garlic, etc.). The hotel's Restaurant Cafe Tosca offers 2 types of plates that can be accommodated without reservations, and a banquet course (reservation required) offers 2 course dishes. * Currently, veggie restaurants are the top medium for foreign visitors to Japan, and the alternative meat market for vegetarian needs (mainly using soybeans) alone has grown to around ¥ 500 billion worldwide.
