My friend, Ann, is posing as a night hiker, standing in a Wall Street trail tunnel, at Bryce Canyon National Park, with the Milky Way overhead. Lighting enhancements reveal the unique and rugged nature of this canyon.
Even with the engineering of about 40 switchbacks, the steepness of this narrow canyon requires a connecting tunnel into the next canyon in order for the trail to be safe and passable. For those not familiar with this section of the Navajo Loop Trail, SWIPE left to see an aerial map and a daytime view of the entrance into this narrow canyon.
TECHNICAL STUFF: a SINGLE EXPOSURE taken with a Canon 5DM3, using a 15mm lens (25 sec, f/2.8, ISO 6400). Low Level Lighting enhancements with 3 F&V Z96 panel lights (one up canyon, one below canyon, and a third behind the rock, in front of Ann). A small omnidirectional LED lantern (with gold filter) is behind Ann on the other side of the tunnel. You can see more of my LLL images at #RoyceBair_LLL. Add’l how-to techniques are explained in my @MilkyWay_NightScapes eBook and on the public service website that @Wayne_Pinkston and I host: LowLevelLighting.org.
