How to: Distract yourself from attempting to pack several months worth of T1D supplies...
Real talk though, it can be a huge pain in the 🍑, but I cannot stress the importance of packing all your diabetes supplies in your carry on enough. This goes for plane, train, bus, and motorbike rides. I’ve had too many close calls with lost/misplaced checked bags and even carry-ons, and the stress of worrying about where your #insulin is/if you’ll be reunited with it is naaaht worth it. *I wrote this as I was trying to stuff my 40L carry-on backpack full of pods, Dexcom, and Humalog below my ferry seat on the way to Indonesia’s Gili Islands.* When I’m packing for any trip, long or short, I discard all boxes/unnecessary space taker-uppers and use differently colored @eaglecreek Pack-It organizers to sort my sensors, pods, and other supplies so that it’s easy for me to take inventories and find what I’m looking for when I need it. While I may often look like an awful backpacker with my 75L backpack on my back and my 40L one on my front, at least I feel like a good diabetic 💁🏼♀️.
