@fergburger_queenstown business so good the queues go down the street. Also, rumoured to have no marketing budget? Imagine building a product so good you don’t need to promote it 🤔 #Repost @the_hunger_diaries with @get_repost
FERG BURGER 👑🥝🍔
The King of Kiwi burgers, if you didn’t follow my emoji tongue... but is it worth the hype?
🎗: These burgers are MASSIVE. As you can see, they’re the size of my head. We opted to try a few, the regular Ferg Burger with cheese, the double Ferg Burger with bacon, and the Cockadoodle Oink, admittedly because I couldn’t not order a sandwich with such a dope name. That one was a fried chicken sandwich with bacon, as you could’ve guessed.
The buns are all freshly baked from Ferg Baker right next door, all of the toppings were super fresh, and the beef, even though formed into thin patties, still maintained a medium cook. Also, they make their own “tomato relish” (ketchup) and “aioli” (mayo)— both are delicious.
🚫: The meat wasn’t as “beefy” tasting as some of the burgers I’ve had in the states. Of course, their using a different cow (and different chickens) than we do, but I thought there could’ve been a bit better sear for caramelization. I also prefer my bacon really crispy, this was more chewy, but again, that is just preference. .
Long story short, I thought these were delicious, well done versions of a typical cheeseburger, but the best burger in the world (per CNN)? I don’t think think so... I still prefer the American Shake Shack or In ‘n Out.
Have you been to Ferg Burger in New Zealand? If so, did you think it was worth the hype?
