Just amazing the benefits a little bit of exercise can have on mental health to lift your spirits 🎉😍 ...goes without saying the physical benefits. A mountain of uni work and exams on the horizon looming over me( perhaps being avoiding by riding my bike 😅) certainly brought me down after the highs of Lanzarote... Great couple of weeks ⛷ coming to an end... First trip over to 🇨🇦 but sure it won’t be the last! . Combining a full day on the slopes with an evenings evening 🏃‍♂️ has always been my idea of a perfect holiday (how could it not be!?) 😃 Alas the insanely cold temperatures have meant some treadmill running rather than enjoying the great outdoors, but still managed a solid long run and some good climb ⬆️ ! . I don’t really ‘do’ valentines. That slight implication that the demonstration of your love is restricted to an occasion. That if you buy cards and flowers your partner will feel loved. For me, to love someone is to hold them with you in everything you do, be it together or alone, whatever the day. I’m so lucky that @charlielees loves an adventure and that we can share a passion for being outdoors, being active and collecting experiences not things. On your right 🚴🏼‍♀️ My commute is approximately 70/80% on the CS3 cycle path into London. It is mostly to the side of the road but there are lots of crossings and lights and sections that cross the pathway. It is a cycle path that has just enough room for a bike going in each direction and so just enough to overtake should you need to. When overtaking I always shout ‘on your right’ to alert the other cyclist where I am as I approach and my intention. This is not an aggressive shout but an indication to others that you are passing. It is for safety and good etiquette. Yesterday another cyclist asked me why i had said that as they’d heard it before but wasn’t sure if they were supposed to do something. They explained they were new and that it was interesting to understand all the nuances. What a session that was!! I’m not sure the budget video does it justice......I promise you it was a bit of a beast! . With less than 2 weeks to go until @powermanspain By @ferrer_active, @starscaffserv @croxburgh @basilduathlon and I were keen to get a big brick session in and there’s no better day to do that than a #cheltenhamharriers #tracktuesday! . It was a great session utilising the track, the awesome training group we’ve got and a pretty horrible little dungeon of a changing room under the stadium! We weren’t worried about that though: we’re all mega motivated and loving the training. It’ll be even better next time if I can get the mega-woofer-speaker-thingy along! Big tunes were lacking! 👎 . Self reflection was something for a long time I was not comfortable with, I never liked the answers I would come up with about myself. Self belief is not an easy thing to grow, others will try and rob what little you have and their jealousy will trap you and make you doubt in yourself. Do not listen to those people who force negativity onto you.
