I saw him weaving through the sparse crowd, handling his camera with unconscious care. He cocked his head to the left, then to the right, before shifting a bit. His head swivelled to the sides, before he gave a pure, self congratulatory smile.
Picking up his camera, he clicked the button and then dispersed away in the crowd. I didn't know what appealed to him in this normal market. Really, there was nothing of a scenery in this place, the one you always find near beaches or mountains.
I walked towards his direction; he was sitting in a local cafe nearby. I tapped on his sweater, before giving a polite smile. "Yes?" I moved on to ask him about this weird fascination of his. He could've clicked anything else, but why this usual marketplace? "Because I met my wife for the first time right here."
It was such a simple answer, and yet I was surprised, before a smile tugged on my lips. "Reliving your memories or something? "No, she died a few years ago. This market holds a special place in my heart, and it'll be the same way till I breathe. I make my way to this place every year on her birthday, and relive that day all over. All my days are painful, but this day is something I always look forward to." What a place is to someone can be so different from the usual image. I never thought of what something can mean so much to someone.
People can have their mindsets changed anytime - and this was my moment.
