Had a few of my fellow Team 40+ guys send me this. If you don't know yet this is basically where we stand on the whole physical altercation thing. No such 5hing as a "fair fight". So I started a stretching routine tonight. I was happy to find that there is yet another metric in which I can measure how age has effected me. I can touch my toes just fine but quads, calves, groin, glutes, and back are tight as a drum. So a couple months ago I talked myself into this idea that 25 years of deadlifts with no major injury was a damn good run but should let it go now that I'm in my 40s. Irritability, depression, and anxiety followed. When strength is part of what defines you one does not merely walk away from that. To that end I state now that I will continue to train just as I have for the past 25 years, heavy and for stength. 10 weeks ago I went to @amandafoubister from @feelfreshnutrition to feed/fuel an aging machine which was about to get the competitive juices flowing again. A return to the ring against #KingCarlos in a pro bout 4x3 min rounds #KFCFightForLife #Dec6. Through the 10 weeks under Amanda's guidance and wealth of knowledge I've dropped 10% body fat added some lean muscle and MOST importantly - I have an energy level I haven't experienced for some time if at all. So much for "You can't teach an old dog new tricks"๐Ÿ˜‚ I highly recommend @amandafoubister and I'm so grateful she's a valued member of #TeamBetham. #Respect. #Guru. #ThanksAmanda.
