Determined to change them! As much as we can in our daily lives, everything we do is a choice and a vote for our fellow humans, our environment and our values. When we feel powerless, it's exceptionally difficult to make the needle move on anything. For many of us, our lifestyle choices are privileged ones. We can decide to spend 30 minutes making that in the kitchen ourselves rather than buying the convenience and damage. We can plan better. Get up earlier. Say no more. Write letters. Pledge to save for experiences and ethical items. Stop doing or buying a, b or c. Change friends. Every day we get to choose these things.
Also though: whilst we are in favor of personal responsibility and empowerment, a lot of people are in awful, impossible or exasperating situations the world has placed them in (whether through centuries of oppression, poverty and slavery, our inability to deal with certain social issues, violence etc) and that is not their responsibility. We also can't actually dramatically overhaul systems when corporate lobbying and corruption are involved at such mass scale in capitalism. At least not yet. We can demand better from it every single day and vote though. And collectively we can change some of those things. That includes reparations to assist somewhat with the former too. We all have choices - some of us have a lot more than others though and with that comes a responsibility to use them wisely.
