The sun sets behind petrified trees on Lake Manze, in the Selous Reserve Tanzania. The Selous is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest game reserve in Africa, covering 54,600 square kilometers of pristine wilderness without human habitation.
The park supports a wide variety of wildlife including elephant, lion, leopard, wild dogs, hippo, buffalo, giraffe, crocodile and many antelope and bird species.
I shot this image over a decade ago and it remains one of the most memorable sunsets I’ve ever witnessed in my lifetime.
