Look him up! __ #Repost @dr.eddiejo with @get_repost ・・・ The efficacy by which restrictive breathing masks (aka Training Masks) simulate altitude training stress and facilitate aerobic conditioning remains yet to be supported by the scientific literature. Most studies have examined the effects of the training mask under endurance training paradigms which again have yielded no evidence of benefits. In a very recent study published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, the training mask was put to the test on resistance training performance. Subjects were tested for total reps during a bout of lower body resistance exercise with and without the training mask in a cross over design study. Results showed a significant decline in total reps achieved during the squat and leg press, increase in percieved exertion, and no substantial hypoxic environment with the use of the training mask. When considering the long term implications, using the training mask may limit overall training volume which in turn could impede resistance training adaptations. Bottom line: if deciding to use the training mask, it should be strictly used as a conditioning tool despite the lack of supporting evidence. POST WORKOUT BRUNCH made by gym wife @nomadjoti who is the co-founder of @rgeldn - the secret samosa club. We had a 3 course #postworkout brunch after our @un1t_london session of spinach, banana @neat_nutrition protein and coconut milk smoothie - perfect for rehydration and topping up potassium after training. We also had berry and seed packed overnight oats, a mushroom and cheese frittata, cheese scones with smashed avocado and coconut chia loaf. Nice n tidy then all set for today's session making sure everything fits with minimal moving bench out the way 🤘all about hitting shoulders & traps. Trap bar rows to shrugs to those lying on your side prone on a bench shoulder raises inverted grip ez bar rows to 3D band pulls = 🔥5 sets 8 reps on everything & I finished with some ab work plated crunches 1 min sit ups to shadow jabs 1 min then up n down planks 1 min made extra difficult to rapping along to nutz on ya chin by Eazy E 😱🤣🤣 time for some band work on this knee then feed up. New PR of 18. Up 5. Lots of people are asking me about skipping. Advice I can give from what I’ve looked at online and personal experience, is start off by completing 200 singles in a row. This should get your arms and legs in sync ready for you to start moving onto double-unders. I now do 200 every time, before starting the double under attempts. I used to pick up ankle sprains by just going straight into double unders, but the 200 singles is a good warm up and lubricates the ankles and I’ve been good since. Where should you place your hands? Well some say locked to your side, but I’ve seen many skipping experts online who do no such thing, so I’d say find what is comfortable for you mechanically. Monday 18th June An awesome start to the week with a heavy clean complex followed by 3RFT of 50 air squats, 7 ring MU, 10 Hang Power Cleans. Hyperextension 👀 —————————— Just a quick post on the correct position at the top of your pull during a RDL/ Deadlift 🏋🏻‍♂️ —————————— Picture 1 and 2 show incorrect positions. The first isn’t locked out and the second is hyperextended, neither are what we want during these exercises ❌ —————————— Hyperextending, in particular, can be dangerous due to added load going through your lumbar region. Instead, what you want is to squeeze your glutes at the top of the pull which will sit you in a happy middle, (pic 3) whilst utilising the glutes fully ✅ ——————————— Could have probably exaggerated picture 2 more but you get the point 😅 at PureGym Leeds City Centre South

✅📝RESISTANCE BANDS ARE GREAT! • ✅📝 An effective PT or coach has the ability to effectively manipulate the loading parameters (i.e., frequency, intensity, volume, time, resistance mode used and movement tempo) over time which will inevitably determine the rate of neuromuscular adaptation and muscular growth in the individual/ client. • ✅📝 There is rising popularity with the use of resistance bands to develop an individuals RFD, Velocity, Strength & Power. It is highly recognised that resistance bands are an effective tool to improve an individuals growth & optimise training adaptations. • ✅📝 I would supplement the use of bands when working on a lower load of 40-50% and implementing the training focus of DE work to improve an individuals RFD which will result in greater training adaptations overall. • ✅📝 Or they can be a really effective finisher on the specified region of the body targeted during your training session.
