The desert showcases two very polarising environments.
The land here is borderline unliveable, desert that is almost completely devoid of nutrients, is very sparse and experiences extreme weather on both ends of the spectrum.
On its doorstep is the southern ocean, a raw, dark blue expanse that is completely enriched with nutrients and biodiversity with endemic species that are not found anywhere else in Australia, let alone the world.
The wave in the foreground is probably the only part of this image that is synonymous with our westernised society. For those that haven’t made the trip, it is a place that is well worth visiting.
