Witches are an indispensable part of fairy tales and fables; as a primary thought- the one who sells toxic apples, the witch who feeds the boy to become a fleshy supper, the one who bars the one with longest hair and the witch who cuts the tongue. The folkloric archetype of characters mostly in fairy tales, the witches were considered quite juvenile and childish by me.
Then in night the one in the mirror called Esteem, began to whisper close to my ears bound to my hearing. Her words entered a stream of despair, stabbing my heart, directly into my soul. Those were some hurtful, evil and addictive spells.
I couldn't turn away from her because she was omnipotent, where it was glass it was her negative witchcraft.
She thereby deprived me of sleep, hunger, concentration and love.
"It may stop when you let her free" my subconscious said.
I took a rod and hit the mirror which shattered off with black wings escaping out of it towards the dark woods.
I could then sleep in peace.
The next morning twelve corpses with no bruises were found in the forest.
My neighbourhood flooded with gossips. I woke up in consent but with a wand in my hand and a hat lying next to my bed. I was covered in black duvets looking not less than a cape and my hands were blood stained.
I shouldn't have developed a greed for my comfort, for my sleep. I shouldn't have smashed the mirror.
