Happy Saturday💫 These mocha coconut balls of HEAVEN were so delicious, and I’m telling myself the addition of protein powder makes me a health goddess too so Inspired from the Swedish chocolate balls @karinboreham always makes (I don’t know what her secret ingredient is but they are so yummy) This is the recipe: 1/2 cup butter / coconut oil 1/3 cup sugar 1/2 cup cocoa powder 1 shot coffee 1 or 2 scoops vegan chocolate protein powder (however much you want really, but if you’re going over 2 add a bit more butter / coconut oil) Dash of vanilla 1/5 bar of dark chocolate grated Coconut flakes for rolling Mix dry ingredients and butter together by hand, add coffee and mix with a wooden spoon. Squish em into balls and roll in coconut flakes. Chill :) makes 24 at Putney

BANANA, CHOC CHIP & WALNUT MUFFINS 🍌🍫 . As promised here’s the recipe for these delicious muffins I’ve been enjoying all week inspired by @thefoodmedic. A perfect way to use up some some speckled or brown nanas so they don’t go to waste.🍌 . Ingredients ➡️ 🔹3 very ripe bananas 🔹120g flour (plain, spelt, wholemeal) 🔹120g oats 🔹100g greek yoghurt 🔹80g soft brown sugar 🔹1 tsp cinnamon 🔹1 tsp vanilla essence 🔹1 tsp baking powder 🔹Generous handful walnuts, chopped 🔹80g chocolate of choice, chopped 🔹 Oil / butter for greasing.👍🏼 . Method ➡️ 🔸Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C. 🔸In a blender blitz the bananas into a purée. You can mash with a fork but the runnier the better. 🔸Transfer into a bowl and add the yoghurt, vanilla and brown sugar. 🔸In another bowl mix the flour, oats, baking powder and cinnamon. 🔸Stir the dry ingredients into the wet and add the chopped chocolate and walnuts. 🔸Grease your muffin cases and fill with the mixture. 🔸Bake in the oven for approx 20-25 minutes until golden brown and slightly risen. 🔸 Enjoy!😋 . Super seedy homemade AND zero waste crackers. Very impressed with how these turned out considering how simple they are! Literally just a bunch of different seeds, some salt, whatever spices you want( I used cumin and garlic powder) and water 💦. I’ve been devouring these with mashed avo and hummus. 10/10 recipe- would recommend! 😋

Does anyone else seem to have a never ending stomach when it comes to popcorn!?!?! 🌱 Those that know me will agree that I am not a healthy person. Exercise is not a word in my vocabulary, and most of the time I still act like a toddler when told to eat my vegetables. Snacking is my thing and now trying to reduce waste I have found this area to be one of the hardest. So I am pretty stoked to be able to buy popcorn kernels in bulk and be able to pop my bucket loads waste free. I’ll admit, I was like a kid on Christmas morning when I also found that the local bulk food shop here stocks coconut rough too! 8 easy and healthy snack recipes for toddlers- Unfortunately I am not one of those amazing mums who can wake up at 5.30 am and prepare creative breakfast and lunch for the family. I literally wake up after Miss A wakes me up in the morning. I’m also not the one who can whip up veggie upma, dosas, stuffed parathas or chole puri in a jiffy. So over the years I have come up with my own little menu which is healthy and my kids have been eating for years with out a complain😂 Sharing 10 easy and Healthy toddler snack recipes for mommy on the go- 1) 3 ingredients Pancake- Mash 1 medium banana, 4 tea spoons of oatmeal and 1 egg. Mix it together. Heat a pan and add butter. Then pour a scoop of batter and roast both sides. Top it up with some honey and extra bananas while serving. 2) Cinnamon french toast- Beat 1 egg and add 1 teaspoon of milk and a pinch of cinnamon powder. Mix well, now take a slice of bread and soak it in the mixture. Now add a little butter to the pan and fry both sides. 3) Cheese Sandwich- Its as simple as it sounds. Slice a block of cheese, toast 2 pieces of multigrain bread place the cheese in between and pop it in a pan for heat until the cheese melts. 4) Peanut butter and jelly sandwich- To make it a health option use organic no sugar peanut butter and a fruit spread instead of jam. Make 1 slice of peanut butter bread and the other with fruit spread and put it together as a sandwich. 5) Roasted makhanas - This is one thing I never leave India without. Roast some makhanas in ghee (Clarified butter) till they are crispy, sprinkle some salt and pepper and store in a air tight container. 6) Cut fruits with yogurt- A pack of Greek yogurt with your child favorite fresh fruit. For extra nutrition add flax & chia seeds. 7) Popcorn- Add some butter to a hot pressure cooker then add some butter and sprinkle some salt. Close the lid without the weight on top. You will hear the corn pop. Remove from the heat once the sound stops. My favorite snacks at the moment! Why paying 2 dollars for just one when you can easily make a bunch at home? The cacao peanut butter flavor is truly delicious. You simply need: 1 cup quick oats 1/2 cup unsalted roasted almonds (or cashews or mixed) 1 tablespoon cacao power 2 tablespoons PB 7 medjool dates, pitted A splash of liquid of choice 1 tablespoon of protein powder (optional) We made 12 of these in total and it was a super therapeutic rolling them in some shredded coconut and crushed salted almonds🥰 at Charlottesville, Virginia

Excellent post by @functional.foods 👍🏻 I believe promoting a fiber rich diet is one of the best ways to prevent inflammation. - To summarize simply, one of the most important places for us to prevent inflammation is in the gut. 🤔 - The majority of our immune system lines the GI tract & in order for us to protect the enterocytes we must give them what they need...🏃‍♀️ - When we consume fiber, our bacteria feed off it (and LOVE it btw) and in response they produce short chain fatty acids. 🤓 - Short chain fatty acids, like butyrate, act as signaling molecules to reduce inflammation and fuel the immune cells in our gut. 🦠 - If you’re not consuming enough fiber rich foods or diverse fiber foods, you’re not feeding your gut 😔 - This promotes inflammation, weakens the immune system & damages the bacteria that do SO much for us. 🙆🏼‍♀️ - So tell me, what do you love to eat that has lots of fiber? The BEST refined sugar free muffins I EVER made! 😳 All you need 👇🏻 • 1 RIPE banana • 1 RIPE plantain • 1/4 cup ghee (melted) • 1 egg • 1 tsp vanilla extract Blend the above ingredients and set aside. • 1 1/2 cup oats (blended into oat flour) • 1 tsp baking soda • 1 tsp baking powder • 1/2 tsp salt • 1/2 tsp cinnamon Mix everything together and add the wet ingredients. Then, throw in a good chunk of dairy free chocolate chips/morsels. I used @enjoylifefoods Dark chocolate morsels. ••• Preheat oven to 325 degrees and bake for 35 minutes. ••• Enjoy! 🤤

Hummus. • Hummus is such a great snack or an accompaniment to any meal. I tend to eat it as a dip with crackers or carrot sticks but sometimes I have it as a spread on toast or a sauce for fritters etc. • This recipie makes around 3 cups so feel free to half it. Flavoured hummus is also nice which is what I always tend to make instead of the plain hummus. The pumpkin, beetroot and pea are my favourite flavours but you could always make different ones depending on what you have in the fridge: ➖Avocado Hummus ➖Roasted Capsicum Hummus ➖Herbed Hummus (basil, parsely, coriander etc) ➖Roasted Carrot Hummus ➖Spinach Hummus ➖Roasted Eggplant Hummus ➖Sundried tomato Hummus • Just blend all plain hummus ingredients (chickpeas, garlic, oil, tahini, lime juice and zest, olive oil) in a blender until smooth.
