I realized this morning that exactly 8 years ago we filed formation docs for a company we decided at the time to call “Tipsy Elves”. Back in 2011, it was nothing more than an idea to create wild and crazy holiday clothing. We knew nothing about clothing design, sourcing, fulfillment, or e-commerce. After our first holiday season, I made the unnerving decision to quit my job as a lawyer to focus on Tipsy Elves full time. I taped my resignation letter to the wall above my computer to remind myself of the career I was leaving behind and the risk I was taking. My life hasn’t been the same since, and I wouldn’t trade anything for the journey Tipsy Elves has taken @nicklausmorton and me on over the last 8 years. From our very early days of no employees and having to “model” our own products, to countless trade shows, many logo changes and hundreds of website updates later, several ‘Shark Tank’ appearances, growing an incredible team of employees, and all the ups and downs along the way (and stress)…it hasn’t always been easy, but it has definitely been worth the immense thrill, pride and satisfaction I feel every day knowing we are growing something that was just an idea 8 years ago. Happy birthday Tipsy Elves and hopefully the best is still to come.
