“@seamores is #sustainable” -- I get asked what that means all the time.
Since before the time I conceptualized Seamore’s + got it all down on paper until the day we opened our doors in June 2015, there was a group of people around me that had the exact same alignment and goals as I did: We wanted to disrupt the NYC seafood + restaurant industry by introducing 100% sustainable and as close to home as possible species to the market.
I grew up in NYC, and on Sundays as a kid I would dip out to Freeport or Captree, hop on a party boat and fish my heart out. We would pull up blue fish, blackfish, black sea bass, fluke, flounder, skate, ling cod, blowfish… species that you never see on menus, and I was curious as to why that was. All of the fish that we serve at Seamore’s is 100% sustainable and I wear that on my sleeve because I’m proud of it.
Make great decisions that impact more people than just you -- THAT is what we mean by “sustainable.” at New York, New York
