It's interesting how time and our experiences shape who we are. Earlier this week I was in Las Vegas for a quick change of scenery. A high-end photo gallery caught my eye and I went in to check it out. The landscapes were stunning, full of colorful, striking light, and super beautiful. But I don't know what it was about those pieces... they alienated me. Maybe they were too perfect, too dreamy, or maybe because they were photos of locations so well-known, we can all ID them in an instant. I would have loved them in the past.
After getting back to home base, I started going through my archives, and this shot of @qyoko jumped out at me. White Sands isn't the most famous location--you don't necessarily get the throngs of tourists that you'd see at the Grand Canyon, for example--but maybe that's part of my affinity towards it and other places like it. Simple, timeless beauty. Peaceful and quiet. That's all I need these days. Would you agree?
