Using a piece of string or rope is a great way to improve your alignment. Having this longer line heading towards the target helps to orient the eyes and body properly, and let’s the golfer feel the correct positions to be in when aimed correctly. When many golfers try this for the first time, they will be shocked by how foreign this feels, because they have been used to being aligned incorrectly for years!
In panel 2 you can see my set up station - one alignment rod for clubface, one for body, one for ball position, as well as the string just outside my target line. In the third frame you can see me tracing my eyes just inside the string line before looking up at my target. This helps me see a straight path all the way to the target, and helps me to get an image of my ball flying straight at the target. Give it a try! at Millbrook Resort, Queenstown
