So as @passionateforthings and I (finally) settle in, we're starting to put stuff up on the walls. One of my most beloved pieces of wall decoration I has been what we always referred to as "My Ladies." This was a collection of women who I found beautiful. I've talked about this here a long time ago, but basically, the purpose of the Ladies boiled down to: "These are women of size. I think they are beautiful. I am of size too, therefore, shouldn't I find myself beautiful as well?"
Fast forward a few years from the board's creation, and lots of things have changed. When I built the board originally, I found all my pictures through Google or Pinterest. Needless to say, searching for positive depictions of fat women on Google was painful. Many of the women I put on my board originally will not be on my board now, for a number of reasons, primarily because two or three years ago, my options were unnamed models and yoga teachers or Tess Holliday.
Now, I no longer ascribe to the label of "lady" and my definitions of importance have shifted. Today, I want to find badass, strong, wonderful, beautiful babes of all genders and a range of sizes to put up on my board.
Here's where I need some help! I have this amazing community of babes here, and I want YOU to let me know a babe who inspires you, who you think is beautiful, or who is just plain badass!
I'll tag some of the babes I'm hoping to put on my board to give you some jumping off ground!
[It's a big piece of poster board, white with a gold glitter border, and typed on the screen in black letters in a white outline are the words "apply badass babes here" and then an arrow pointing to the white space.]
