These two exercises had my quads burning... even with a mere 65lbs. Prior to these I did front squats and then right after I did box squats 😂 I was shaking. I was making ugly faces. I was chewing gum. My legs were burning. I said "What the heck?!" In that first video. What a day. Then I did some calf raises, leg presses, and hamstring curls. All 3x10 except calves which were 6x15. (2 sets/angle (straight feet, pointed outwards, pointed inwards)). My abs are still aching from yesterday. I set a goal when I walked in the gym today. It was to hit 225 x 3.. I got my warm ups in. Did a a couple working sets of 185 x 6. My first attempt I got folded! But iknew it was my form (ended up ina goodmorning lookin position coming up; instead of using my legs) but I had a goal and I was not giving up. Got fucking mad at hit that bar again. So it seems I forgot I had a back... 😂 I train it consistently and with purpose. I feed it, I rest it...but i never actually see it...or think to look at?👀...but hey it has been winter!🌬🧣...It's taken a sweet reminder for me to actually take some progress pictures of this lil backaroo...6 months from my first competition a few kgs gained and now a couple of those gone...my back is fuller...stronger...and fingers 🤞🤞🤞 I've built some thickness in there.... It’s a funny thing being pregnant and having everyone and their mothers comment on your appearance. The most famous comments I have received are “oh wow, your much bigger than I though you should be at this stage of pregnancy”. “Are you sure there’s not 2 in there”. “You got big really fast“. “Your belly is way bigger this time around”. “How much weight have you gained”...the list goes on. . . Please let me break it down for you, just because a woman is pregnant does NOT mean you get to have an open conversation about her appearance. Why not try something like “how are you feeling”. . . Thankfully I am sitting in a good headspace and I am proud of my body and what it can do, but that doesn’t mean that those comments still don’t burn. How I look is no one business but my own. When I went to the fields today, the nets had finally been taken off of the goal posts signifying a kind of unofficial end to my soccer season. This summer, I used soccer to get myself in shape and keep my mind clear. And while I am still largely COMPLETE garbage and I never really reached the level of "match fit," I learned a lot and I'm pretty damn proud of myself. If nothing else, I learned to have the confidence to take the shot that I wanted to take. Yes, I could tap the ball in to the net, but come game time, I'd have to learn how to get it up and over with enough power and spin to give the keeper no chance. Even if I missed, I could say I tried. It's obvious to see how I've been able to take that philosophy and apply it to the rest of my life. So here it is - my last chance to put the ball where I'd trained to put it all year: over the wall and dropped in to the far post pocket. Made it back to the gym today. We jumped in with a leg day and I feel like I sucked, big time. I hate going in the evening because I always have to go out of order, or wait for a long time for the equipment I need. We did some alternate stuff, and I still got a decent work out. I am still dragging though from my carb heavy week. Even with a pre-workout I was not feeling like I was doing 100%. . I took a side photo, and one of my back. I look much better from the front, but hey, we are working on them peaches. Right now they remind me of jelly being squished out of a pastry 😂. One day I'll have a better looking backside. .
