We don’t have nearly the amount of snow and my fam and friends in Ohio, but the single digit temps have us all cooped up inside! ❄️🙃 . Between potty training, finding the baby’s nap schedule, living a little farther out from things, and winter; it seems like we’re at home way more in this season of life. 🤷🏽‍♀️ . I personally like to get us out once a day, but learning to embrace mommin’ from home all day, with coach work sprinkled in the cracks. . Even more of a reason to start my day for me. How you distribute weight in your feet may be influencing how other joints in your body move during the squat or deadlift (or really any other movement). . . If you put most of your weight in your heels, the response will be your shins will straighten. This may result in the hips lifting first. This applies to both the squat and the deadlift, and may be why your hips lead the movements. . . Focus on keeping the big toe, pinky toe, and heel in contact with the ground. Your heel and two ball mounds should have the weight evenly distributed. . . THE TRUTH ABOUT CARDIO AND WEIGHT LOSS There is a misconception that the best kind of exercise for burning fat is cardio… and that you have to do a ton of it to get results. The truth is, you can lose fat without doing a single minute of cardio at all. The real recipe for weight loss is a caloric deficit, which, theoretically, you can create through diet alone. And lifting weights will get you BETTER results than if you slaved away on the treadmill for hours. Why? Because weight lifting promotes fat loss in several ways. 1. It builds and preserves muscle tissue. The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn in a day. 2. If you are pushing heavy weight around, you can get your heart rate going! 3. Unlike cardio, you continue to burn calories even after your workout is over! Ladies, you don’t have to do a bunch of cardio to lose weight. Moderate amounts do have benefits for your health, AND it can help create a caloric deficit without having to cut as much food, so it’s a personal choice whether or not to do it. If you choose not to, I encourage you to at least take a walk every day! (Not only will you burn calories, but it’s good for digestion AND mood!) ✨ STOP CRUNCHING. Especially postpartum moms. People usually think (and I was one of them) that crunches/sit-ups were the way to get abs. While, these exercises aren’t “bad” they’re often unnecessary or not preformed properly. Crunches and sit-ups shorten the abdominal muscles but that will end up crowning and pushing your muscles outward, which is what we want to avoid. Postpartum moms, that is something we ESPECIALLY want to avoid considering we are already suffering from Diastasis recti. I have seen more improvement in my core postpartum by focusing on activating my core, proper breathing exercises, and pelvic floor friendly exercises than even before having Owen. I feel like my core if the strongest it has ever been! You can strengthen and define your core without having to do endless sit-ups and crunches all while protecting your: - Pelvic Floor - Back - Abdomen - Neck - and Healing Diastasis Recti . Above are a few of the exercises I try to incorporate daily into my workout routine. If you’re properly engaging your TVA these will BURN your core by the end of the workout. . Preform each movement for 10-30 reps and 3-5 sets. Slow and steady = better results.

Life will always get in the way if you let it! I know not everyone cares about having a fitness routine or wants a side hustle, that's cool! I'm not here to judge! It’s time to get back into a morning routine because my days go waaay better when I start it out early + to myself (somewhat now 👶🏻) Lol. I decided yesterday I was going to start to prep my body + mind into a routine so I’m committing to a yoga routine every day until I’m cleared on the 30th to take up my intense 20 minute workout with the rest of my friends 🙃 look at that mama pouch! 😊 I got about 20LBS to lose + I’m dying a little without anything + I notice my short fuse is sparking again 😬 so today I had to cut it short 7 minutes but I still like a good 23 minutes in before my morning started with taking Aria off to school, running errands + going to Olivia’s 1 month appointment! Feeeeeeels gooood! I SWEAR by waking up early + just having that time to ourselves especially as a moms because once those little eyes open it’s all about them + how that I have the energy to feel normal, I’m all in! Newborn mom life: . I was up at 2:00am, 3:30am, + 4:45am - last night I only nursed her instead of pumping too (so I wasn’t up for an hour). She finally slept until about 7:30. I've been into fitness for several years, not counting the required "fitness" the military had prescribed for the last 19+years. I "know how to do it". I also know how NOT to do it. The last couple years, since my last competition, I've allowed myself to get away with doing it the wrong way. I've used surgeries and pregnancy as excuses to just blow off discipline in my nutrition. The sweat is real! Transform 20 Burn today was well a burn fest! 🤣 loved it. I did have to modify a bit. My balance wasn’t quite there this morning. Could be cause it was a long night with two sick Littles. Ones on the mend and the other is just starting. Fun times! But I took my time this morning to sweat. Cause it makes me a better Mom. Circuit 2, 3 & 4 done ✅ I didn’t get much sleep last night, but I got it done and it was a killer. Especially circuit 2! "This happens to special people... not REGULAR people..." I thought. . I've sat in folding chairs in New Orleans and Indianapolis the past two summers listening to women talk about how this coaching thing has replaced their full time income, retired their husbands, and helped them break ground on their dream homes. I sat in those chairs, a cardigan wrapped around me, spiral notebook open on my lap with notes scrawled in colorful ink. I did the visualization exercises. I listened. I heard how NORMAL they all were. . Teachers. Hot mess moms. Nurses. Military wives. Recent college grads. Those who had over a hour commute daily to some corporate job. Swimming in student loan debt. Credit cards maxed out. Overweight and feeling purposeless. . I could SEE MYSELF. I began to see what I once thought was reserved for people with luck and inherited money become more REAL for someone like me. Someone who leaves laundry in the dryer for 4 days. 🤷‍♀️ Someone who stubs her toe on the same table leg almost daily. 😳 Someone who struggles when creating a simple Google form. 🙋‍♀️ Someone who can't ever remember her password for important accounts.😂 Someone who leaves the store without buying the one thing she came in for.🙈 . And y'all... once you begin to SEE yourself as capable of something, the wheels have already been set into motion. You begin to move differently, talk differently... and it happened. I exceeded my monthly teaching income. The month of January I've made $3283 with my coaching business. . It may seem like it's reserved for "special" people... but I'm a regular person inviting you to see the vision of what could be. . Two months postpartum! My body does not look the same as it did pre-pregnancy, but I don’t expect it to. I am proud to have carried twins to 38 weeks and I am amazed at the changes in the past two months. I am starting to regain some level of fitness. I have taken it really slow, and I am trying to appreciate any amount of gym time whether it be ten minutes or 45. My core is getting stronger and I can engage my abdominal muscles 💪. I have a small abdominal separation called diastasis recti which is similar to the separation I had in my previous two pregnancies, but is not magnified by having carried twins. 😁 The largest and most obvious difference is the loose skin which will most likely improve over the next few months. (Swipe right👉) I can’t say I LOVE my body, but I love what it has done and what it continues to do. I love that I have been able to regain enough core strength to carry, and rock, and nurse two babies. I love that a ten minute workout can feel amazing for my body and my mental state. Enjoying our snowy Monday off! I couldn’t help but feel a bit like Pooh Bear after Sunday dinner yesterday. 🤦🏻‍♀️ 😂 All in moderation....I tighten up the diet & exercise during the work week!! There’s something about the weekend, and especially a three day weekend where I find it necessary to spend the time with my husband and kiddo...sometimes having fun, sometimes being productive around the house...but I like to prioritize family time on these days especially. My goal through this whole journey is to improve the balance of work/home/fitness...but bottom line is this little stinker will always be number 1. #shesonlylittleonce #postpartumfitness #postpartumbody #postpartumfitnessjourney #mombod

Weight loss •• •• The majority of people who participate in a fitness program are looking to lose weight, shed excess fat and tighten and tone. Then there’s a small percentage that are just looking to gain the health benefits both physically and mentally. If you’re part of group one, it’s important to try to alter your mindset. We become so fixated on losing weight that we don’t actually see or recognize all the benefits that are coming from our fitness regime. I can say this first hand. Since being pregnant with normal sized twins, my stomach was stretched majorly and I wasn’t allowed to workout, so I put on weight throughout my pregnancy. Since having my boys I am always looking at my stomach (it’s the part of me that has changed the most) and I’m constantly thinking nothing is changing because my stomach isn’t flat and smooth yet. But, just like my post about the scale, this can be very deceiving. I often lose my motivation once I look at my stomach or try to wear tighter pants and still have a muffin top. However, the reality is, things are changing for me, both mentally and physically and I can see these benefits when I stop expecting the biggest change to happen in the area that changed the most for me. It will likely take the longest to get to where I want, so in the mean time I need to focus on my decreased anxiety, my muscle re-growth and my returned overall feeling of wellness! ⬆️ Handsome guy in the pic is my husband. We started our meal plans and in two weeks he lost 8 pounds- and I lost ZERO... this is what prompted me to reflect on my goals and where I was focusing all my energy and my stomach and the scale do not accurately represent the changes that are happening. 👊🏼 Happy Monday!!

Put aside your fears
Stopped doubting yourself 
Stopped saying “I wish, I want, or wouldn’t it be nice if I could...” and got up and did something about it! 
Too often people don’t go after what they want in life because of fear, self doubt, and concern about what others will think about them, so they continue to live day by day going through the motions’. I am a victim to this mindset too. But we are all capable of great things!
