❤️ Being back with my main collection allows me to answer a great question I received recently: how am I looking at playing cards now? ❤️♣️♦️♠️
Lately I've been experimenting with Bourgade's methods, which, like all these 19th cent. authors, he claims are the "authentic Etteilla!" 🤣 This is a card counting method - all 5s - with a piquet deck. Here I'm using my 1890s gold-trimmed Grimaud. ❤️♣️♦️♠️
Take out the Significator. The first 8 cards coming out of the 5 count go face down. The classic Significator is the first on top. Count through the remainder of the deck again to get the next 7 top cards. That's your tableau. ❤️♣️♦️♠️
Read the visible cards in pairs; then flip over each bottom card & read in pairs with its matching top card. ❤️♣️♦️♠️
Finally, take out the Significator, shuffle the 15 other cards. Now he switches from counting 5 to counting 3. Go through the cards in 3s, choosing the highest card in the triplet. You have to keep going through the cards until you get 5 cards. If you have a tie, choose according to the suit order: ❤️♣️♦️♠️
Then lay them out as in the 2nd pic. Significator in the middle. The first card in your triplet draw goes on top (Your thoughts); 2nd, bottom (What you're avoiding); 3rd, right (what you secretly want); 4th, left (what your intuition tells you); 5th, in the corner, (what is hidden). ❤️♣️♦️♠️ Such parlor, right?
When you try it, tell me how it works for you. Enjoy! 😘 at Darmstadt, Hessen
