😤 I HATE that I had to do this. Throwing food out, wasting food... It's something I really try to avoid. However, this olive oil & this coffee... It had to go. It was no good. Let's start with the olive oil. A lot of people don't know that they may be consuming rancid olive oil. Olive oil is prone to oxidation which reduces shelf life. It's not super obvious when the oil goes rancid, especially if you're not consciously looking for it. My tip, don't go getting those massive bottles or tin containers of olive oil because it's better value. Unless you're really chugging through it, you'll be consuming rancid oil by the end. Recommendations for olive oil: 🔵 Organic, extra virgin, cold pressed, first pressed (ideal scenario) 🔵 Smaller sized glass, dark bottle 🔵 Store away from light and heat 🔵 Be conscious of not leaving the cap off too long. The more air that gets in, the more oxidised the oil, and the less good it is. Now the coffee ☕️... I just haven't been drinking coffee much anymore, I simply don't need it. I do enjoy it (black of course 😉) but I've been good with my morning smoothie and tea. As a result, this stuff has been sitting around way to long, months and months. Coffee is best fresh. Like the oil, it can go bad, probably quicker then most would think, and again... It's not super obvious. You do not want moldy coffee, you don't want oxidised coffee. Lastly, it's not organic. I'm not an organic nut, but with coffee I feel it's important. It's one of the most sprayed crops in the world and with all the shit coming out about pesticides and glyphosate as of late, I'd rather bit take the chance. at Newcastle, New South Wales

A soft fudgey pillow that contains pre and probiotics 😲! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For me, assessing the sugar content of food is very much dependent on what I’m getting in return. If something has 10g-15g sugar in it, then I expect it to taste pretty damn good and be sitting within the dessert/treat category. If it merely tastes like an average muesli bar & contains 10-15g sugar, then I won’t be consuming again, because I know I can have something much better tasting with a lot less sugar. -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m definitely impressed @luv.co These cookies & cream nut bars taste like decadent little fudge bites! They contain probiotics, prebiotics/fibre and come in at 5g sugar per serve 👌🏽. Broccoli cheese balls, : Ingredients: : 1 1/2 heaping cups fresh broccoli florets 1 cup shredded Colby cheese 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese 4 ounces Velveeta, cut into small chunks 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes 2 1/4 cups Panko crumbs, divided 1 egg, lightly beaten 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 2 eggs, lightly beaten Vegetable or Canola oil : Instructions Steam broccoli until slightly softened. Let cool. Finely chop broccoli. You want the pieces to be 1/4-inch or less. Place in a large bowl. Add cheese, red pepper flakes, 1/4 cup Panko crumbs, and 1 egg to bowl with broccoli. Stir well. Use your hands to shape mixture into balls using about a rounded tablespoon for each ball. You should get 12-14. Place balls on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Place flour in a bowl. Place the 2 lightly beaten eggs in a second bowl and mix in 1 tablespoon water. Place remaining 2 cups Panko crumbs in a third bowl. Pour about 2 inches of oil in a Dutch oven or heavy pot. Heat oil to 375 degrees. For best results use a thermometer. Remove broccoli balls from refrigerator, coat in flour, dip in egg mixture, and then coat in Panko crumbs. Fry about 4 balls at a time cooking until golden brown on all sides. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

It’s easy to add protein in your vegan diet! Plants have lots of protein and you don’t have to take supplements or cook expensive and difficult meals. C’mon lentils and beans?! Or a plate with tomatoes, chickpeas and scrambled tofu is done in 10 minutes and can give you more than 40g of protein which is almost as much as you need for the whole day! . . Even if you get bloated by beans and you try to avoid them, you could check the internet for some tricks to cook them differently to avoid the bloating effect or just eat less. Add spinach and more leafy greens, nuts and seeds, veggy burgers, sweet potatoes, avocado, bananas, oats, PEANUT BUTTER, hummus, whole grain bread 💚. . I drink soy milk because it’s loaded with more protein than almond and coconut milk and it’s a bit cheaper, I eat lotsss of tofu, you could try tempeh, soy yogurt exists as well 😅 . . Try making raw bars - it’s cheaper than the ones you find in supermarkets and you can make them the desired taste 🍪 Add nuts, cocoa, coconut flakes, peanut butter, dried fruits, dates and blend everything. I add protein powder as well 🤷‍♀️ Put everything in a baking tray and put it in the fridge overnight 🌿 . This is a quick and easy recipe that will take less than 30 min and includes only 7 ingredients! INGREDIENTS 1 red bell pepper, diced 1 block @soyganic seasoned firm tofu, cubed 1 cup brown rice 1/4 red onion, diced 1 can black beans 3 cups spinach 2 cups corn Salt and pepper RECIPE 1️⃣ Start by cooking the rice. It will take the longest. Add 1 cup of water to a small pot, add a dash of salt and bring it to a boil; once boiling, add rice and reduce heat. Let simmer for 15 min, or until the water evaporates 2️⃣ Meanwhile, cook the corn. Add water and salt to a separate pot and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, add corn and cook to preferred texture. Set aside. 3️⃣ As the corn cooks. Preheat a large, deep pan and add tofu; cook on each side until brown. Then, add the onions and red peppers to the pan. Cook until soft. Finally, add in the spinach and black beans, cook until spinach wilts. Taco stuffed peppers 🌶. : what you'll need: : 4 large bell peppers, any color 1 lb lean ground beef 1/3 cup water 1 pkg taco seasoning 1 - 15 oz can black beans 1/2 cup black olives, sliced 6 Roma tomatoes, diced 1/2 cup cilantro, chopped 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp black pepper 1/2 cup Mexican cheese blend 1/2 cup pico de gallo sour cream, for garnish : let's do it : Cut pepper in half through the stem. Scrape out the seeds and ribs and set aside. You will have 8 pepper shells. If they are not sitting level, cut a small slice from the underside to help level them. Brown meat in a large sauté pan breaking it up as it cooks. When no pink remains, drain any excess fat if necessary and add water and seasoning mix. Continue to cook until thick. Remove from pan to cool and set aside. Drain black beans and rinse under cold water. Drain again and set aside. To a large bowl add meat mixture, beans, diced Roma tomatoes, cilantro and salsa. Mix thoroughly and season with garlic powder, salt and pepper then fill the pepper shells with mixture. Place in oven for 30 minutes until heated through. Remove from oven and top each pepper with pico de gallo and a dollop of sour cream. Enjoy!

GUYS!! I met the most amazing woman yesterday! Check out my story for the details and to hear her personal story overcoming sickness through food. I asked her for an interview and I got all the Golden Nuggets of Wisdom I am sharing below: La Tonya is a Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Nurse Educator from Chicago. We met in a plant based restaurant in Gilbert, AZ. We started chatting about our common desire to help others live a healthier life and soon discovered we were kindred spirits! We chatted about the bad example that many health care professionals are of a healthy lifestyle. She explained it as “I’m out of breath and I’m coming to help you” and told me about how many health care providers are telling people to stop smoking or drinking but they can’t even control the harmful things they’re putting into their own body in the form of the foods they eat. She has strived to be that better example. Her desire is that everyone have a basic understanding of what health and wellness truly is before they start taking drugs for a problem. She gave the example of someone she prescribed a drug such as metformin to for blood sugar control. She would like them to know the root cause of the actual problem before they start taking medication for it. She says it is ALL related to diet and exercise, but mostly diet! That is a bold claim especially when it is often so much easier and less offensive to tell people it’s purely genetic. Today I was alone in the morning and I was very board, so I decided to make this "oat-cake" and watch a movie, to treat myself a little 🤗. The recipe is pretty basic. 💎Tofu-cream-oatcake💎 For the pancakes: -1 banana; -1+1/2 cups oats;(oat flour or oat let in water overnight) -1 tsp backing powder; -1 tbs vanilla; -1 egg/chia egg; -1/2 cum water; For the tofu cream: -soft tofu;(about 50g) -3 tbs coconut yogurt; -essences; -3 dates; If you don't like tofu cream, you can use just the yogurt or cream cheese if you're not vegan. Recently, the Impossible Burger was introduced as a menu item in a number of restaurants around the U.S. but it appears that Impossible Foods wasn't expecting their trial run to create such large demand. White Castle and Red Robin, as well as many mom & pop restaurants, ran out of the patties last week, and it's unclear when they'll receive more.
