Change. It’s tough. Trust me I know. The one thing that’s stayed consistent over the last 5 years of my life is photography (and Ryan of course). I started taking photos because I wanted to share the feelings and emotions I felt with my friends and families back home. I wanted them to know how incredibly beautiful this world is if you just look outside. When I felt my loneliest I felt comfort in the beauty around me. I wished everyday that I could share these beautiful places with the people I love, so this is how I do it. Unfortunately I spend most of my time in solitude these days, I talk to myself constantly and get lost in my thoughts some good and some bad. A lot of times I feel discouraged and mostly it’s because I feel like I don’t know how to speak anymore. I’ve disassociated myself over the years to cope with the pain of missing home/people. It’s something I’m trying to work on everyday and it’s not intentional. It can be hard to speak out when your too head strong like me. Too much pride to show weakness but I’m over it. So here’s to learning more about the real me. #mentalhealth #speakout #rawthoughts #photographyismytherapy #iceland #exploremore #artistfound

"Photography is my therapy. For those few moments when I'm focusing on the beauty around me,the racing thoughts calm,my heart stills,my hands stop shaking. Finally, something helped me find a little peace,if only for that moment, rare, authentic peace of mind." 🌄☀️📸🛡️ 🧡HDBA #nofilter #nonnasfotos #picsart #alabamasunset #photographylovers #photographers_of_instagram #alabamasunrise #amatuerphotography #photographyismytherapy #mycalm #findyourcalm #peaceofmindispriceless

"Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light" – Albus Dumbledore . . . I've been trying to really focus on doing more things that make me happy. It's so easy to get stuck in the monotony of work, burn yourself out, and neglect doing the things you love. For me today, this included going to a Harry Potter themed harvest festival and my best friend @ashley_chaan convincing me to step in front of the lens for a change. Although I begrudgingly obliged (cuz being in front of the camera makes me more skittish than a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs) and immediately asked "are you done yet!", I have to say I loved the couple pictures she was able to somehow get with the world's most unwilling model 😂 . . . 📸: @ashley_chaan at Mountain View Barn
