My daily workouts are something I actually look forward to each day. I feel strong, confident, and accomplished. Personally, I used several situations in my life as fuel in my fire to succeed. 25lbs down, and I'm still going. The mental negativity is changing and I'm getting rid of so much I've held onto. All things we do are in God's hands. It's HIS timing. Making excuses are never going to help you, there are no such things as magic pills to lose weight in a healthy way, and looking cute after a good hard work out is Damn near impossible. So if that's what you want; move along lady! You won't be annoyed with my stories or progress if you go after your own goals. Like put your mind to it and GO! It takes work and Doesn't happen overnight. 5 spots left if February Fit Tribe if you are finally ready to help yourself. I can only help you if you DECIDE to make the change. ✌ at Columbia, Missouri

I’m 1 out of 10. I have PCOS or polycystic ovary syndrome. It’s something I’ve struggled with since my early twenties, I was diagnosed right after my grandpa passed away and the doctor who told me about this condition also told me I would never be able to have children. This gave me a total complex on ever wanting kids. I’ve spent my twenties feeling like a victim to this stupid diagnosis. I’m tired of that. I don’t want to live the rest of my life feeling helpless to something that I can control with some willpower. I’ve now made a decision to make the rest of my life focus on my health, mentally and physically. I’ve chosen to choose my happiness and not let the depression or anxiety that comes along with this shitty PCOS control me. I’ve chosen to better myself in every way. I’ll be posting my journey along this way, with the ketogenic lifestyle that @katiesketo is helping me on (she has been my biggest motivation and is an amazing life coach) , to natural supplements I’ll be taking instead of the chemicals doctors want to put in everyone who has pcos, and also just staying active. I hope everyone will be able to learn from me and I hope so inspire and motivate everyone around me. 💜 ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ #pcos #healingpcos #polycysticovarysyndrome #pcossisterhood #pcosadvocacy #prioritizepcos #pcosawarness #infertility #pcosjourney #fertility #pcoscysters #pcossupport #cysters #healthy #health #pcosfighter #keto #glutenfree #wellness #womanshealth #mentalhealth #meditation #journaling #selflove #pcosdiet #pcoscommunity #pcoswarrior at Los Angeles, California

Thanks @drmarkhyman for these wise words! :: Cysters, I know it’s hard to get away from junk food completely. Which foods are you still struggling with? :: I have learned to accept that I will always have a weakness for chocolate. Now, I choose dairy-free versions that are lower in sugar. And, of course, moderation is key. :: Make good choices for yourself this weekend! :: ~Chelsea xo

FUN FACT FRIDAY 💕 . . Today I posted the longest story EVER to my stories about PCOS and my journey so I thought I'd share some fun facts about it here ❤ . . 💥 As many as 6-12% of women have PCOS- the range is so wide because it's tricky to diagnose. 💥 About 70% of women with PCOS have insulin resistance 💥 Not all women with PCOS have cysts in their ovaries 💥 PCOS can be a cause of infertility in many women 💥PCOS can lead to weight gain, but also makes weight loss SO SLOW. 💥 There is no CURE, but symptoms can be managed! Women take supplements, medication, and exercise and change their diet to alleviate symptoms. . . ACCESS to CONSISTENT exercise, support, and nutrition has led me to a place where my symotoms are SO MUCH BETTER. I am losing weight and my anxiety and depression (also a part of it for some) are under control. . . Want to join me on my journey?? I still have a long way to go and I hope you come along for the ride! 🌿🌻

I haven’t drank coffee in 5 years 🙉 ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ You must be thinking okay well you are a weirdo and you probably were never addicted or always drank green smoothies & dandelion tea for breakfast. You are thinking it right?!😜🤣 ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ BUT I used to be addicted. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ I would have 2 cups of black coffee & it would basically revive me in the morning. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ So when my doctor suggested I quit coffee for my PCOS, I felt like I was breaking up with someone... ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ But to my surprise I quit cold turkey and never ever craved it again. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Now I can get up in the morning without caffeine, I dont need to rely on coffee poops 🤣 & my PCOS is better than ever. Do I miss it? Not even close. I know I was surprised too. 🤷🏼‍♀️ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ But that’s just me. Coffee has some great health benefits but its definitely not for everyone. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ What’s my take on coffee for PCOS? Join me LIVE today to get all the deets! ☕️ at Venice, California

Have you ever wondered what PCOS is? PCOS is when a woman’s ovaries or adrenal glands produce more male hormones than normal. It affects 5-10%, or about 5 million, young women in America. With this condition, women experience irregular periods, abnormal hair growth, acne, and their ovaries can develop small cysts. Did you know PCOS is a factor in 30-50% of cases of infertility?! PCOS could be affecting your ability to get pregnant. Dr. Oberoi and Dr. Lyon can help you determine if PCOS plays a role in your infertility journey. To schedule an appointment head to the link in bio. . #pcos #pcosawareness #pcosdiet #pcospregnancy #pcosfighter #pcoswarrior #pcosweightloss #pcosweightlossjourney #pcossucks #pcossupport #pcosfood #pcosfitness #pcosjourney #pcoslife #pcoslifestyle #pcoscommunity #pcosfacts #pcosproblems #pcoscysters #pcosstrong #pcosnutrition #pcosutah #pcosawarenessmonth #pcoslearnmore #ivfsaltlake #pcosinfertility #ivfawareness #ivf #pcosfriendly #naturalfertilityslc at Salt Lake City, Utah

As promised, over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing the 7 PILLARS you need to address to FINALLY clear your acne + improve your overall health + wellbeing. I hope you find them useful and get a chance to evaluate how you’re doing with each pillar! ⠀ 🖤 PILLAR 3 - EXERCISE 🖤 ⠀ There’s not a ton of science directly linking exercise and acne. But, there are LOTS of studies linking many of the ROOT CAUSES of acne to exercise (or lack there of) - which is what really matters. 🙌🏼⠀ ⠀ There are loads of benefits to your skin from working out but since there’s not a lot of room to write about them all here I’ll list 2 of the big ones relating to acne.⠀ ⠀ 〰️ One root cause of acne is insulin resistance or hyperinsulinemia (too much insulin in the blood). The chronically high insulin levels cause the ovaries to amp up testosterone production - which can lead to acne. ⠀ ✨Exercise, especially strength training, increases insulin sensitivity, which means reduced testosterone production + less acne. ⠀ ⠀ 〰️ Another root cause of acne is stress. Chronic stress can play a role in hormonal imbalances like low progesterone, insulin resistance, + androgen excess, as well as HPA axis dysfunction, + inflammation -which can all lead to acne.⠀ ⠀ ✨Exercise helps with stress management by reducing levels of your stress hormones, adrenaline + cortisol and stimulating the production of feel-good chemicals called endorphins.⠀ ⠀ Working out is a super important acne management tool - but it’s not a cure-all. You REALLY need to have a balanced diet + lifestyle customized to YOU to see your skin clear up for good.⠀ ⠀ Also, avoid over-exercising because it will only aggravate hormonal imbalances + worsen acne. ⠀ ⠀ Your workouts are meant to NURTURE you + not punish you! ❤️ ⠀ So, make sure you listen to your body and provide it with the rest + nutrition it needs to recover from exercise. ⠀ ⠀ ✨Tired of having acne? Let’s get you CLEAR! Click the link in my bio to book a FREE 20-minute clarity call with me.✨ at Edmonton, Alberta

FOOD directly affects PCOS gals because what we eat affects insulin production and insulin resistance. Managing insulin levels with a PCOS friendly vegan, plant based diet is one of THE BEST 🥳 steps you can take ! . Here’s the why’s and how’s 👇🏼 . 1️⃣ GET RID OF GLUTEN- Your body is already in a state of inflammation from PCOS and gluten only adds to the problem. The majority of gluten free grains have a lower glycemic index and won’t spike insulin levels. 🌱 Replace wheat products with gluten free grains such as brown rice, quinoa & buckwheat . 2️⃣ DITCH THE DAIRY - dairy causes inflammation in the body and wreaks havoc on hormones ✖️✖️✖️✖️ 🌱 Replace dairy with nut milks & coconut yoghurt . 3️⃣ CUT THE CAFFEINE& REFINED SUGARS- Caffeine disrupts hormones in the body. If your moods are already unstable, you’re stressed and anxious unfortunately coffee is only going to make it worse 🙅🏼‍♀️ Studies have also found caffeine can alter levels of estrogen and negatively impact fertility. Refined sugars lead to insulin spikes which increases insulin resistance and leads to worsening of PCOS symptoms. It’s also highly addictive and increases cravings particularly after meals. 🌱Switch your morning coffee for dandelion tea ☕️ 🌱If you’re a chocolate lover, eat at least 70% dark chocolate (way less sugar) . 4️⃣ MINUS THE MEAT Consuming animal protein results higher circulating levels of trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO). TMAO injures the lining of our vessels, creates inflammation, and facilitates the formation of cholesterol plaques in our blood vessel = problems for cardiovascular health. PCOS gals are more likely to develop cardiovascular disease, consuming meat is only going to make these chances higher. 🌱 Switch meat for plant based options 👌🏼 . 5️⃣ PUT DOWN THE PROCESSED FOODS! Jam packed with unnecessary saturated fats, refined carbohydrates, loads of sugar and a cocktail of chemicals. These all interact poorly with our body regardless of whether you have PCOS or not these foods aren’t your friend ✖️ 🌱 Choose whole food, REAL food options your body will love 💓 you for it 😘 . Tip 🌟- Choose one thing in your diet that you switch out to get started 🌱🙌🏼

Three and a half years ago Mr and I shimmied down the isle to this track after tying the knot. Some people thought it was an odd choice of song but we’re not the most conventional people! When I saw that they were playing in Cardiff on Valentine’s day I got us tickets right away. Coming out tonight has brought it home just how miserable infertility has made us. We haven’t seen a live band for an eternity. We are both musicians but haven’t played for a year. For me fertility drugs induce anxiety and I can’t handle being on stage. But no more. Tonight we danced till our feet burned, we laughed and drank and decided to write some music. We need to work at getting back to the shiny happy people we were dancing in our wedding. Infertility takes so much. I’m done postponing my life for hypotheticals and what ifs. P.s told the mister that if we ever have a daughter I’m buying her a trumpet. Happy Happy Valentine’s Day! Here’s my face and a picture of me and my awesome for life Valentine! I hope you can eat so much chocolate/taco bell with no flares for all! Yesterday I went to the Endocrinologist and she was really happy with the blood work! I asked her what I should do about the nausea and she said when it comes, stop taking the Metformin. She said the Metformin really is helping with the insulin resistance and the Spironolactone is more important because it’s really what is helping with the less frequent Hidradenitis flares. The last two weeks, i’ve now been getting bad flares in my groin and she said it’s probably anxiety and stress induced. Kinda trying to hold off going to Dr. H about it because it’s in such an embarrassing/weird/don’t you even think of touching me spot. So far the armpits have been good since the surgery! So far the flares have in the groin have gone away by themselves so hoping it’ll stop when I learn how to relax...lawlz. Also, science has discovered a new planet...AND ITS ON MY FUCKING CHIN. My hand is strategically placed😏😎 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #hidradenitissuppurativa #hidradenitis #hidradenitissuppurativawarrior #hidradenitissuppurativaawareness #hidradenitissuppurativasupport #hswarrior #hswarriors #hswarriorsunite #hsawareness #likeforlikes #like4likes #autoimmunedisease #autoimmunewarrior #chronicallyill #spoonie #spoonielife #spoonieproblems #spooniestrong #chronicpain #chronicpainwarrior #chronicpainawareness #chronicillness #chronicillnesswarrior #chronicillnessawareness #pcos #pcosawareness #pcosfighter #pcoscysters #invisibleillness #invisibleillnessawareness

I don't always give my kids chocolate, but when they have a treat it's a good stuff they really enjoy. ⁣ ⁣ People are shocked I eat chocolate, I totally have treats. The difference is rather than having any random whatever I see, I choose to have a treat. ⁣ ⁣ My clients plan treats into their plan, and still get results! Having a plan is key, making a concious choice is an important part. ⁣ ⁣ They don't have deprivation or regret because they arent om diets. They learn about nutrition to fuel thier body, get great results have more energy and choose to plan for treats they really want.⁣ ⁣ If you're used to having junk here and there without thinking or choosing, you could making it harder on yourself and not even enjoying the treats. ⁣ ⁣ I used to do it all the time. I have 4 kids, having a little of this and some of that kept my weight going up.and up and the worst part, I didn't even like some of the things I was eating!!!⁣ ⁣ It's common it happens more than we even realize. Part of the secret to getting to enjoy things you live and still reach your goals is understanding nutrition, your mind and how to plan.⁣ ⁣ Ok so what's your all time favorite treat for yourself? ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣⁣ #totalhealthwins #getbackin #stopstopping #pcosawareness #workforit #truehealth #getfit  #mom #empoweringwomen #chocolate #vday #healthychoices #realfood #4kids #bodyafterbaby #strength #fatlosstips #wanderlust #healthymom #fatlossjourney #gethealthy #fitnessjourney #strongwomen #weightloss #momlife #pcoscysters #rottie #motivation #lifecoaches #furmom⁣⁣

The hardest thing is seeing everyone you care about and love being pregnant. You feel like your alone and keep asking god why can’t I have a baby too... You’re actually happy for that person but you’re just sad for yourself... When you feel broken and feel like something is missing and you just keep waiting and waiting for that positive test but it never comes you feel like your honestly dying inside and no one understands. Everyone keeps telling you oh just wait your time will come of course that’s easy for you to say because your not in my body to know how hurt I actually am... #pcos #pcospositivity #pcospositive #pcoslife #pcoscommunity #pcosawareness #youarenotalone #pcoscysters #pcoswarrior #pcossupport #pcoslove #pcossupportandpositivity #pcosfitness #pcoslifestyle #pcosstrong #pcossyndrome #hope #pcosfriendly #pcosinfertility #pcosweightloss #pcosfacts #pcosgirl #pregnancysupport #infertilitysupport #infertility #tryingtoconceive

I hear many people say they “need” to eat before a morning workout or else they won’t have enough energy or that they will get dizzy. 🙄 . (Pssst..if this is the case a blood sugar imbalance might be to blame) . But eating before a workout is the LAST thing you want to do! . . When you wake up in the morning your human growth hormone (HGH) is high, as it’s been released by your pituitary gland while you were sleeping. . Thanks, pituitary!! 🤩 . . Simultaneously, your glucose level is low at this point because you’ve been fasting while you’ve been sleeping. . . But as soon as you eat you’ve initiated a glucose response and your insulin responds to the call to action! 👣 . And when insulin is produced the body then inhibits growth hormone. This is not ideal as growth hormone promotes lean muscle mass and fat burning. . Low levels of #HGH in adults leads to higher levels of body fat, lower lean body mass and decreased bone mass. . If you workout in the evenings I suggest to not eat anything after lunch, and wait to eat dinner AFTER your workout. That way you are still doing a mini fast in between lunch and your workout so glucose levels will be lower. . But obviously this depends on how late you workout! 🤣 . While you’re first working up to this level of metabolic flexibility you might need to eat a small snack between lunch and dinner, but work towards your lunch keeping you full for 4-6 hours. . Also, don’t reach for that protein bar or shake directly after your workout. 🤦‍♀️ . You’ve worked so hard to rev up your human growth hormone levels (remember this hormone promotes fat burning and lean muscle mass) and eating directly after your workout will squash it. . So wait 30 minutes to an hour until you eat. 🥑🥥🥦 . Stay tuned for my next post where I’ll share ways to increase your HGH levels naturally. 💪 . #healthyhormones #fitness #fasting
