I am strong.
I am an athlete.
The first time someone called me an athlete, many years ago, I laughed. I could never be an athlete, I was just someone who really liked to workout.
But as time as passed over the years and my drive and dedication have stayed consistent, I realize....
I’m strong and I’m an athlete.
I’m strong because of the miles I run and the weights I lift. I’m strong because of the mental grit I put forth nearly daily to power through. To choose the heavier weights or the harder workout. I’m strong because I wake up every day with determination and go to bed with satisfaction.
I am strong because I will brave new challenges and I will attack them. I will not let my fears win, and I will push myself out of my comfort zone.
I’m an athlete because I think like one- with hours of activity and dedication for no other reason than I love it and I want to be stronger, train harder and be better.
I am strong and I am an athlete, and though it took many years to get to this headspace, I finally see myself that way.
All it took to believe it was some consistent training and a lot of believing in myself.
I’m never looking back from this mindset. Watch out world: here I come.
