The best part about living a healthy + balanced lifestyle is you don’t need a break from it 👌🏼🧚🏼‍♀️ . I have my highs & lows, but never any extremes, restrictions, rebounds.. We fluctuate naturally, in terms of weight, composition, activity, motivation, LIFE, so many things. It’s too easy to get caught up in trying to completely control it all, but one of the BEST things I ever learned was to LET GO . Let go of the need for numbers, let go of the obsession & worry, let go of the need to compensate because you ‘ate too much’ or had some extra treats. Let go of the need to take up less space or fit into society’s ridiculous standards. To look like her. No more punishment, no more anxiety, no more regret around food . But instead, more love, more mindfulness, forgiveness, nourishment.. An amazing thing happens when you let go & turn your attention to you wellbeing, not what you believe you ‘should’ do 🙌🏼💛 It falls into place effortlessly . Sound too good to be true? When I let go everything fell into place for me & I’ve maintained a healthy + balanced lifestyle for over 5 years now 🌸 I’ve had many obstacles thrown my way but I have an underlying knowing that it’ll come back into equilibrium. Who is remaining healthy for the holidays ? 🙋🏻‍♀️ I know I am. Just because you are choosing to stay focused through the holidays, doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy the things you love. The problem most people encounter with the holidays, is not understanding the words moderation and discipline. There are so many goodies out this time of year, it is easy to get completely derailed and say “oh I’ll just start over with the new year.” Don’t be that person, save the goodies for the days/times that matter(Thanksgiving/Hanukkah/Christmas/whatever day you celebrate with family). After you have your cheat, get right back on track. None of this “well I already messed up today, so I might as well eat _________.” Or “I’ll just start over Monday.” Today is Monday. Eat your goodies, and make sure you eat right at the very next meal! Discipline yourself to get right back on it. If you don’t have the ability to moderate or discipline yourself to refocus, make your own goodies and take them with you so you are not tempted by treats loaded with sugar and bad starches. You can do this! And if you need an accountability person to talk you down, coach you to make better choices, give you recipes or food ideas, or customize simple workouts for you to get through the holidays, you need my online training! It’s all about allocating enough calories to fit your daily food budget. Once you learn to do that you have the flexibility and freedom to enjoy all the foods you love. All you need is a pair of dumbbells and 30 minutes. Perform 60 seconds for each exercise and at the end of the circuit do 40 crunches and then rest for 2 minutes. Reapeat the circuit by increasing 30 seconds to each exercise. 6 Ways to continually BUILD MUSCLE! 💪🏼 - 1️⃣ Same Weight, Slower Tempo: this one is all about time under tension! (TUT) The slowed tempo pumps more blood into the muscle, and you’ll notice that you won’t be able to complete as many reps, but your PUMP will be nice 🔥. 2️⃣ Same Weight, More Reps: this leads to more muscular endurance, increased time under tension, and increased muscle damage due to the increased number of eccentrics with the increased reps. 3️⃣ Same Reps, More Weight: one of the 3 ways to build muscle is through mechanical tension. This simply means lifting heavy weight! If “X” reps of an exercise get easy, just throw some more weight on there and get the same number. 4️⃣ Same Weight, Improved Form: this could mean a couple things, one example could be focusing on controlling the weight more and feeling your muscles work, which leads to increased time under tension. Also this could mean improving & increasing range of motion (ROM) in any lift. The more range of motion, the more muscle being used. 5️⃣ More Volume: by this I don’t just simply mean more reps of any given set, but more reps, more sets, and more training sessions! Frequency is king when it comes to strength & muscle gain. Meaning the more often you can do something, this usually leads to greater gains. 6️⃣ Exercise Progression: the key to lifting is getting down the fundamentals first. These include your presses, squats, deadlifts, and other big lifts. Once you have got the basics down, then you can progress to more advanced lifts. This new stimulus almost always leads to new gains in muscle & strength! #jsfit💪

This form of push-up is a bit more challenging if you’re not used to doing regular push-up. It is helpful towards developing shoulder size , strength and stability. Along with shoulders , it can help sculpt the upper back and increase stability. Oh and don’t forget that push-ups automatically activates the core muscles. This mean that the abs , lower back, obliques, and more are getting toned. If this variations is difficult, then opt towards gaining the strength from doing incline pushups. Work towards 15-20 reps then hit modified pushup( on your knees). Same reps apply and then move towards doing regular pushups. Same reps then you move on towards the pushups in the video above. All of my followers should know by now that I keep it real 💯. ••• With that being said, I want to make it known that I am no longer following a strict vegan diet. I could not keep up with the amount of protein I needed from only plants and beans, and when I did hit the right macros, my IBS issues quadrupled and I was bloated nearly 24/7. The whole reason I wanted to go vegan was Ofcourse to save the animals, learn how to write and cook vegan plans for clients, and to correct my IBS problems. I adhered to a strict vegan diet for 2 months; I took all kinds of natural supplements to aid in digestion and hoped my increased fiber intake would eventually become at peace with my body, but it only got worse. ••• On top of my stomach issues worsening, I also lost 10 lbs during that time period, and HATED watching my body lose muscle mass even though I was getting leaner, I was tired constantly, and ask @joe.korte I was VERY BITCHY.😂 Needless to say, I have incorporated a few animal products back in to my diet: whey protein isolate, chicken, and some white fish. Still not consuming any dairy nor red meat of any sort. I’m doing as much as I can to conserve the planet that we call home, but I’m also human, and I have to do what makes me feel the healthiest. ••• I hope that you all understand it’s okay to give up a goal if that goal doesn’t interest you anymore or if it hinders your health in any way. I'm very scared to admit this... . . It's no secret that I've had a substance abuse problem which is why I'm now sober for nearly 3 years but...what if I told you my substance abuse was more than just alcohol? . . You'd probably judge me right? . . That's the fear most people have when they have a problem and it is the biggest reason they don't do anything about it. Fear. Fear of judgement. Fear of failure. Fear of FOMO. . . But what about the fear of not becoming your best self? What about the fear of always hating your body? The fear of constant guilt? Fear of dying? Yes. Dying! If you've gotten this far in this post you're likely struggling with something serious and in the worse case scenario might even put you in an unsafe position with your health or otherwise. . . So listen up buttercup! . . You are fucking stronger than you think! It wasnt easy for me to go from drinking 7x per week to nothing. It wasn't easy to quit the extracurriculars either. It wasnt easy to lose literally every "friend" I had because I wasnt partying anymore. And it certainly wasnt easy to admit I had a problem. . . 🛑STOᑭ ᗰᗩKIᑎG ᕮ᙭ᑕᑌSᕮS🛑 . ✳️As you can tell, I wasn't in the mood to be here. I had some inaccurate charges on my bank account that still haven't gotten resolved 🤬. I was walking into the gym when I found this out, and of course, it soured my day. I just wanted to turn around and leave, but I thought, "I can't give myself excuses." . ✳️I lifted heavy and finished the whole workout 🏋🏾‍♀️. . ✳️Did I feel better afterward? Honestly, no, I'm still pretty pissed about the situation. I usually get that endorphin physical high from the workouts, but it wasn't there. . 💯BUT, I ✳️✳️KNOW✳️✳️ IT GOT ME ONE STEP CLOSER TO MY GOAL🍑🍑🏆!! . ✳️We all have shit going on in our lives that we can use as excuses to not get our workouts done or not follow our nutrition plan. Work ran late, someone wants to do hh, or just plain tired/not feeling it.
