So this happened! . . I haven’t been 75kg in over 8-years. . . Before my implants the lowest I got was 68kg but I comfortably sat around 70-73kg. The implants blew my weight out to 89.9kg in 6 years. . . 75kg was always that weight that would sound the alarm, I’m sure you have one too... it’s like “okay you look good but you can’t put on any more weight” and it’s so nice to be back here because at just under 5’10 for every kg I lose from here, it shows like 2kg! . . I’ve lost over 3kg in 3 weeks, something I couldn’t do eating LCHF before the “unraveling” begun 5-weeks ago... and it has been the result of working on reducing my stress by doing things like stepping back from work, clearing my plate of all commitments, practicing @emotion_yoga and eating easily digestible foods like slow cooked meals with rice and buckwheat to take the pressure off my organs to heal so they can work properly... NOT from restricting carbs, eating more fat, having BPC, restricting calories, fasting for days or adjusting my macro splits... it was PROPERLY managing STRESS!!! . . And I’m going to be honest I still haven’t totally unwound! I’m still defaulting to my manic behavior the second I have an ounce of energy, which results in me totally burning out for days, but now more than ever I’m aware of it and I’m continuing to make changes in my life to make space to heal. . . I’ll share more once I’ve got it sorted out but I now know that if I really want to heal I can’t just eat myself healthy... sometimes you need to rest yourself healthy too! . . So thankful for this rainy, chilly weekend which was a nice reminder to slow down. I am feeling much much more like myself and my nervous system is feeling calm. HOMEMADE ALMOND MILK is healthier, better, and cheaper than store-bought. While store bought almond milk is very convenient, it’s actually loaded with gums, fillers, and other unnecessary ingredients that can be upsetting for your stomach. This is a very basic recipe- feel free to double, triple or reduce it. I find this ratio the best in my opinion but if you’d like to thin it out- go right ahead. It’s not too watery and you can actually taste the almonds. - Ingredients: 2 cups raw unsalted almonds soaked overnight or quick soaked, 4-5 cups fresh filtered water - Procedure: ➡️If quick soaking* bring a medium sized pot of water to boil. Place almonds into a large bowl. ➡️Pour boiling water over the almonds and let sit in hot water for 20 minutes. ➡️Strain through a colander and transfer almonds into a high speed blender or Vitamix. ➡️If already soaked overnight, strain almonds and transfer to blender as well. ➡️Add 4-5 cups or fresh filtered water to the blender. Blend on high for 1-2 minutes. ➡️Line a large bowl with a nut milk bag. Pour mixture through the bag. Squeeze until all liquid comes out. ➡️Transfer “milk” to an airtight container or glass bottle. ➡️Store in refrigerator for 4-5 days! ➡️Save the “pulp” to make almond flour and use it for cookies, cake, crackers, etc. Or at least try to compost it so it doesn’t go to waste. Stovetop probiotic protein oats (I dare you to say that five times fast) were a win this Sunday morning 🙌🏼 . . I have been so happy to have our friends in town this weekend and celebrate Jared and his graduation, and to top it off, I had these oats for breakfast 🤣 Get to be with some more family and friends today, so I’m looking forward to this Sunday. Here are the #dEATS for this probiotic oatmeal: ▫️one scoop of @lilsipper’s probiotic pea protein (optional) ▫️1/2 cup of rolled oats ▫️1 cup of milk, plus a little extra (if you really like them creamy and have added the protein powder, since it makes it thicker) ▫️ 1 tbsp each of chia and flax seeds ▫️dash of cinnamon and vanilla extract ▫️directions: bring oats and milk to a boil, then turn heat to low and set timer for 7 minutes. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir occasionally until done. Pour into a bowl, top, and eat! 🙌🏼 ▫️top with what you desire! Back in the smoothie bowl game... 😅 Still taking it slow after coming home sick from my trip. Life's definitely taught me a lesson there. Sometimes you just gotta take things slow instead of rushing back into chasing from appointment to appointment. I'm sleeping more and am not stressing about things not getting done right now. Gluten-Free Double Chocolate Cookies with NO refined sugars or dairy! 🍫 You may be thinking, Silvia, didn’t you make a whole batch of cookies on Monday. Yes, yes I did. But cookies are life and they make me happy, so I’m gonna keep making them. Plus it’s the weekend, so it’s the perfect excuse to bake some more. 🤷🏽‍♀️😂 These cookies are super simple to make and sooooo good. I’ve been munching on them since they came out of the oven. 🙈 Double Chocolate Cookies: 1 1/3 cup of almond flour 1/4 cup of coconut sugar 1 egg 1 tbsp of coconut oil 2 tbsps of cacao powder 1 tsp of vanilla extract 2 tbsps of maple syrup A pinch of salt Dark chocolate chips Mix all of the ingredients (except the chocolate chips) together in a bowl. Using a tablespoon, drop the batter onto a lined baking tray and shape the dough into circles/cookies. Currently sitting in a bathtub full of hot water and nursing my pms belly. . Hey, our health isn't ever perfect. In fact, nothing is perfect. Do you like eating leftovers? I love it! Tonight it is leftovers night. We have meat-less balls with a flaxseed crumb in a tomato garlic sauce sat on a bed of freekah (ready made @merchantgourmet), a generous side of mashed avocado, fresh salad, crunchy pumpkin seeds and some zingy dried goldenberries.
