“Are you giving, giving, giving without replenishing along the way?” . Day 3 Strala Miami 🌴 . This question came up today and really caught my attention... . The ‘no pain no gain’ mentality is something I’ve been working on letting go of for a couple years now. . I used to work myself to exhaustion, stress, breakdowns and for days, weeks and even months without a break or day off. . Rest was for the weekend (which I wouldn’t end up doing), or a slow season or when I could take a ‘vacation.’ . But I would never end up resting or replenishing myself at these times because I would allow myself to get busy or make plans with friends and when I traveled that was exhausting in itself. . All of this ‘work’ doesn’t lead to anything except burnout and overwhelm. . @stralayoga has taught me how to practice taking care of myself along the way. How to move in a way that doesn’t allow me to burnout when I do a lot. How to approach challenges with ease instead of tension and stress which only causes the body and mind to work twice as hard to accomplish something. . If you’re not taking care of yourself along the way and always saving it for the weekend or a vacation you’re going to burnout. You’re going to cause unnecessary stress and illness and you’re not going to enjoy this journey called life. .
