"The 8 Eyed Demon at Scorpius Arch"
Crazy Story Alert:
As I was driving back from Havasu Falls in the Grand Canyon, I figured I would do a night out in Joshua Tree and try and catch the Milky Way. There is a super secret spot called Scorpius Arch that was discovered by Chip Morton . It's so unknown that even Joshua Tree park rangers didn't know where it was when I showed them a picture. I got tipped off by a friend and decided to drive there and search for it. When I found it the sun was still out, I was tired, had just hiked 12 miles that morning and drove 5 hours. Blisters on my toes, and my knee was screaming at me to just go home, but pressed on anyway. When I got there, I laid down on a rock and fell asleep. I've heard stories by tracyleephotos of there being scorpions there so...I was nervous. Set my alarm to 3 hours later and passed out on this rock in the middle of the desert. I woke up 2 hours later with the most terrifying thing ever. THERE WAS A TARANTULA, slightly bigger than my palm on my belly. I felt it crawl up (which woke me up), I looked down and saw it's 8 eyes staring at me, burning my soul 8x more than your average demon. I freaked out, swatted the spider off me and ran like living hell! I actually love spiders, the bigger the better. I've always wanted a pet tarantula...but when a wild one is on your stomach right when you wake up... your heart misses a beat and you borderline have a heart attack caused by fear.
So it scurried off and I did to. It took me 30 mins to not be paranoid that it was going to come back. So, with every sign under the sun telling me to go home... I stayed, and every picture I took I hated. They were really noisy because of the heat. Even ISO3200 on a 6D the pictures were really noisy. I also couldn't align my shot up nicely. It was just an off night to say the least. Got pissed then walked to the road (in pitch black... with my screaming knee and blistered foot), and I got to the road about 1/3rd of a mile away from the rock. Got in the car, went home and was so excited to lay in a nice warm bed.
I was very unhappy with how this picture came out but, cool story bro, I present to you.... Scorpius Arch #MyCanonStory
