July 2018 vs April 2019. Last week of this month’s challenge, never skip a Monday!! I didn’t do my workout this morning and I didn’t do my meal prep meals, see, the new program is already done live but that’s not a good reason to be lazy this week and that’s why i love my virtual fit club, they always show up ready to kill it & it’s contagious! As far as the no meals I still have many fruits, veggies & tuna or chicken I can fix quickly plus my superfoods shake and my post workout shake to make good choices; free week doesn’t mean you undo all your hard work 😓 it means we got a chance for a quick nutrient dense cleanse and to start planing the next month’s challenge, after all, like I shared today with our group: it’s not about one size, it’s about my overall health long term! 💖 sweet dreams everyone!! at Riverside, California

I had a really hard day fueled with negative thoughts and negative comments made to myself. I was feeling low and went to the gym after work. I found this note on the floor and it breathed life into me again. Officially kicked off Hybrid Week ✌🏻with LIIFT4 Week 2 Chest & Triceps and T20 Week 2 Powerful. Today was...all the pushups, and even more burpees...which resulted in a little modifying here on my part. Still not strong at all with pushups, but I can see improvement from Day 1, and that’s really what matters. . Looking forward to this week because I can already see little differences since I started this program and it’s only been a week! I cheated a little yesterday and stuffed my face with Easter chocolates before lunchtime, had a beer, and filled up on lunch with the family. I also had a cookie at lunch today. . BUT. Happy Monday. Had a couple of cheat meals this weekend but I’m back on track and have some big goals to crush this week *********************************** Started the week off with a great shoulder and traps day. Made more strength gains this workout and didn’t have any pain in my shoulder. I like using the cable station to modify upright rows. Week 2 day 1, going strong!! I woke up feeling not so great so I let my morning workout go, in exchange for some extra rest...but I made myself get my 20 minute workout in right after volleyball tonight! * * The best thing you can do when working towards a goal is take it one day at a time. I remember the day the picture on the left was taken so well. After I took that picture, I looked at it and I didn’t even recognize myself. I refused to post the picture because I hated how I looked but I wouldn’t dare delete it because I loved being in a picture with Zach so much 😍 I spent the better part of SIX months after that trying everything to make myself “look better” for our trip to Vegas. I was determined to take better photos 🙄 I ate less, exercised more, and researched flattering picture angles on the Internet (😂). Well, that Vegas trip came and went and I was even more defeated by the photos 😭 . . It was shortly after I came across a post inviting me to a virtual Bootcamp. The post showed women like me on the right. They were smiling, thriving, and incredibly happy. . . I didn’t have a lot of money (hello student loans), I didn’t have a lot of time ( #studentteacherlife), I didn’t have a lot of faith that it would work ; but I was drawn to those smiles. I wanted one of THOSE smiles. . . What happened after I said “yes” to this opportunity has been a blur of nothing short of amazing. Physically, I’m in great shape. But mentally, I have never felt better. Yesterday at Easter after I took this impromptu picture of Zach and I, I immediately smiled because in that moment I realized I got that wish. I had THAT smile. The one worth more than any money or any time. I posted that picture without a second of hesitation because not only do I love that guy, but I learned to love myself 💕 at Okotoks, Alberta

✨This is a visual representation of my “mindset makeover” ✨ . Just under 3 months difference between these two photos - my mind is blown! . You know those old “this is your brain...” and “this is your brain on (inset any harmful toxin)” commercials that the media used as a way to illustrate the negative effects of said substance. . Well, I want this to be a POSITIVE message for “this is your brain...” and “this is your brain on DOSE (the four chemicals that activate happiness). . D - Dopamine ; O - Oxytocin ; S - Serotonin; E - Endorphins. . I have gotten to the point where I look forward to my workouts (dopamine - anticipation); I love being a part of our virtual support community (oxytocin - social creatures with empathy and a feeling of togetherness); I am learning so much valuable information about nutrition (serotonin- guy health); and I am learning to “power through” to do the hard things required for truth growth by stepping outside of my comfort zone (endorphins - masking pain or discomfort). . I look at these two photos, side by side and I can’t help but feel proud for how far I have come. . The girl on the left, with her shoulders practically in her ears - she was feeling lost, confused, alone, and lacking direction. She was out of shape - physically, mentally, emotionally. She struggled to truly accept herself and was filled with self doubt. In many ways she was so overwhelmed and didn’t know where to begin. . The girl on the right - look at how much more relaxed she is. Not to mention, look at those shoulder muscles starting to peel through. Here stands a woman who is finding herself. She is embracing the quirks that make her different. She is learning to trust herself, to step out of her comfort zone, to share and be open on her journey through life, motherhood, mental health, wellness in the kitchen, and fitness. . It’s been three months and I know that this will be a journey I will continue for life. .
