Grasping the relationship between energy consumed and the end goal can only be realized if there is consistent awareness of eating behaviours. found the left pic on facebook then other day and was genuinely shocked that was me?? it was taken in 2017, the right pic was just the other day. one thing i’m grateful for tho is that even though i was bigger, i still felt confident wearing what i wanted. our weight doesn’t define our style or our personality or us at all. it’s just a number on the scale, so you can still rock the crop tops even if you don’t have a snatched tum. i didn’t lose weight because i hated myself, i lost weight because i love myself and wanted to live a healthy life and improve the overall quality of it. i think that’s one of the reasons why i was actually able to succeed in losing weight. viewing weight loss as a form of self torture or punishment creates a horrible dynamic and relationship for your body and your life. a big part of this journey is acceptance of yourself and the pursuit of self love, so i encourage you to evaluate the “why” behind your wants and make sure that you aren’t trying to beat yourself up for looking a certain way, you’re beautiful and worthy regardless of size/weight. 💕 Thank for following us @health.usa Thank you so much. Too big Tuesday!! This sweater used to be my hide from the world don’t look at me sweater. Ironically it didn’t hide me at all. Matter of fact It was tight on me😱 I so wish I had a picture of me wearing it from before but if I was wearing this sweater I didn’t want to be photographed. This sweater meant I felt terrible, gross, fat, sad. Now look it’s way too big and I’m happy as can be taking a picture in it! I still can’t believe that 4 months ago I was big enough to make it look tight. I can’t believe I was that wide. I’m not going back to that I love the woman I’ve become comfortable in my own skin, happy, and learning to not beat myself up for getting so out of hand! There’s only going forward from here. No stopping me now!!

For most people, transitioning to a high raw plant based diet, filled with tons of fresh vegetables and fruit, is a completely new endeavor! It’s not something we learn, but it just takes time and consistency to create a new habit of healthy eating. One of my weight loss coaching group members posted these photos saying, “It gets easier!” She’s building food prep into her routine. At the start of this program, this woman found herself surrounded by more fresh produce than she had ever had in her house in her life! She didn’t know where to store it all. To me, this is incredible. People learning they can make changes and experience the life that comes from plants. I tried losing weight by continuing to eat meat, cheese, gluten, frozen low calorie meals and processed crap. I tried to keep doing the same thing, but just less of it. I’ve been on my #WLJ for 1 year and 7 months. Within that time I have also had 3 ankle surgeries. If you ask me what’s harder losing weight of dealing with my ankle I wouldn’t be able to answer. Both journeys have taken a toll on me but they have also helped me grow. They both have hurt me mentally and physically but they have also helped me as well. Losing weight is hard enough but doing it while battling with an “untreatable” injury is just down right crazy! But I am determined to win both battles no matter how psychotic I become lol. I’m 48lbs away from wonderland and 85lbs away from being down 200lbs! So today’s workout wasn’t too bad, 5 sets of 300 m row (sprint) And 6 burpees. I’m already pretty tired in the videos because it was my third round. But overall a good workout and then some abs workouts at the end that I wasn’t able to get videos of. I have a CONFESSION to make 🤷‍♀️⁣ ⁣ If you’ve been watching my stories you know that I spent the weekend traveling and checking out Charleston, Savannah and Atlanta ✈️ ⁣ ⁣ And while I totally believe you can make healthy choices while traveling - that wasn’t my intention this time around.⁣ ⁣ I WANTED to try traditional southern food and experience the culture of another place.⁣ ⁣ I walked a ton, I drank a lot of water, but when it came to food...I didn’t really hold back.⁣ ⁣ And for a second, it made me feel like, “Who am I to post about eating healthy foods while I’m shoving down some fried chicken and peach cobbler?”⁣ ⁣ But then I realized, this is who I am and part of my message to you.⁣ ⁣ This is why diets don’t work and why lifestyle changes are important. ⁣ ⁣ If I was on a diet, I would feel like I crashed and burned. ⁣ ⁣ Instead, I feel at peace with my choices and ready to get back to what is normal for me, which is making healthier choices.⁣ ⁣ In fact, after everything I ate, veggies have never sounded so good 🙌😊⁣ ⁣ Food is meant to fuel you BUT it’s also one of the most pleasurable aspects of life. ⁣ ⁣ It’s a big aspect of culture and I for one, believe a big part of traveling is exploring other cultures.⁣ ⁣ Not always, I mean sometimes it’s good to use travel as a moment to completely rejuvenate but sometimes experiencing another culture is the objective, and there’s nothing wrong with that ✨🙌⁣ ⁣ What’s the best place you’ve traveled to in terms of food? Oil-free beetroot hummus by . Recipe: 2 cups of cooked chickpeas (1 cup of dry) 2 medium beetroots 1 garlic clove, pressed ½ tsp of fine sea salt, adjust to taste 2 tsp of ground cumin 2 tbsp tahini Juice of 1 small lemon approx. ½ cup of water a few grinds of fresh pepper 1-2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil to serve (optional) sesame seeds to serve (optional) Set the oven to 200° C Wash the beetroots and wrap each one in a piece of kitchen foil (adding a tablespoon of water to each packet). Put into a hot oven and bake for 45 – 60 minutes (until the beetroot is soft enough to pierce with a knife). Once baked, set the beetroots aside until they are cool enough to handle. Keep the beet juice that gathered at the bottom of each packet – it will come in useful in step 4. Peel the skin off the beetroots with your fingers and chop them into slices. Place chickpeas, slices of roasted beetroot, reserved beetroot juice, minced garlic, tahini, lemon juice, cumin, salt and pepper into a food processor. Process until smooth. If the mixture is too dry, drizzle a bit of water into it – be careful not to make it too watery. If you prefer your hummus to be smoother, transfer the mixture into a blender and process some more. Unfortunately, the mixture tends to get stuck in a blender (due to a blender’s construction and thickness of hummus) so making it this way is more work and I’m not entirely sure it is worth the extra effort. Another thing that results in much smoother hummus is peeling chickpeas after cooking. It is an arduous task, however, so don’t do it unless you are a smooth hummus fanatic. Here I am, showing up for myself and not running back to my old ways which feel easier and more comfortable. (Like skipping the gym and hitting the vending machine.) Thank you @liquidshano1973 for posting this truth bomb the other day! 💥 TBH, I’m still struggling. I do best (thrive, even) when I am on a schedule and daily routine. Well, both my schedule and routine has been turned upside down since getting our puppy. I simply am not able to squeeze in a daily walk after work. So, I know I need to adapt and get in a treadmill walk while I’m at the gym on my lunch break! Do I love the treadmill? No. Do I love going to the gym and then scarfing down lunch at my desk afterward 3 days a week? Not particularly. But I’m trying to get it done because I know I’ll be happier in the long run. I’m not happy now, but slowly trying to gain my footing back. And taking teeny tiny baby steps toward that open cage door. #invisiblecages 💕

I was talking with a new weight loss coaching client yesterday, and she is incredibly excited to do her first 10 day juice fast. She’s excited to feel amazing, because she sees how amazing I feel everyday. And she knows that is possible for her, too. She said she was already getting comments, though, from co-workers who are “concerned” about her not eating for 10 days and only drinking juice. They have also been reminding her about all of her previous failed diets and attempts to be healthy and lose weight. Essentially, they are cheering for her failure. Her co-workers do not believe that they themselves capable of succeeding with their health, so it scares them to see her be at the beginning of radical change. They know they could be doing more for their health, but they’re not open to doing what she’s doing. The majority of the population would never be willing to go 10 days without food or to even start looking at their relationship and addiction to food. And the majority of the population will never experience the miraculous healing that their own bodies are capable of. But my client knows that she is capable of success. Of miracles. She knows she can thrive. She told me that being in the weight loss coaching group and following @HMINutritionSchool’s 66 Day Health Mastery program is going to change her life. She’s telling her co-workers the same thing. She’s telling her doctor she’s going to need her blood pressure medication lowered in 2 months (or sooner). She’s focused and committed. She’s ready to thrive, feel better than ever and dance around laughing while her co-workers continue to stay stuck.~Aaralyn

Left: 253lbs, February Right: 228lbs, May . Same shirt and bowtie but VERY different fit. The bowtie hung off my neck when I tried it back on and I had to tighten it up. The shirt doesn't even fit anymore as I have 4 fingers of room in the neck. Yet, I didn't even really feel or see that big of a change. That was until this last week. . This last week I truly started to feel and look different. Lots of people always ask "when will I notice change" well the honest answer is that it will take a while. For me it was a 25lb loss before I noticed a big difference but that doesn't mean I stopped. You gotta keep going and keep working. It is #transformationtuesday !!!!! Wow is all I can say. I absolutely love transformation pictures because to me it shows more than the scale ever could. #transformationtuesday there is about a 30lb difference between these two pictures! The left was a few months before my youngest turned one so I was just petering off from nursing, she was becoming more mobile and I started to feel like I had some freedom. Being active with a young child is super challenging. Anyways so yesterday my family and I spent the morning doing yard work and I asked my hubby to try to recreate the 2017 pic!!
